about 330am this morning I killed 30 teir 5 TIE's singlehandedly to get to my last quest for master privateer...taking out the corvette. I need atleast 8 tier 4 people to fly with me and help me off this thing. I have no clue how much the XP value is...but I assure you its over 30k for the kill. Anyone who helps me gets the same help in return from me when its their go for the block.
Thanks in advance!

Unles you can find a reb with a ywing you can gun from...I wont be able to use imps or nutrals who cant become reb long enough to help out. Really sucks that I cant use everyones help for this. So if your reb then your help would be very much appreciated

That is, for any high level pilot slick enough to bring a Y-Wing 2-seater into the battle...I'll gun for ya'. Well, it is a Corvette after all. At least one Y-Wing is needed here.
My own piloting skills are low at the moment, but I can bull's eye with the best of 'em.
I'm imp, and a lowly level 2222, but i'll help if i can. But, if they made the corvette like all the others, it'll be a breeze taking it out. Just get in at a good angle on the engines and they can't touch you. Nice big fat engines to block all their turrents.

That exploit was changed in X-Wing Alliance. The Corvettes started adjusting their angles to hit you even when you tried to sit there. And you took damage from the engine exhaust back there also.
Ok, if it is a neutral or rebel corvette, you will need all the Imps you can get. You will want ones with Bomber Strike 2. When everyone flies in, you'll want them to get within around 1k meters and use it.
You want to know what the corvette entails? Well, I took on two of them yesterday (we also killed 2 rebel space stations, which drop like 50 pieces of loot and cred chips worth up to 1m). You will see the corvette, then 2 gunboats should hyper in around it. Then you'll see around 5 Tier 5 Xwings and 5 Tier 5 Awings. They will aggro you. Be ready.
The Gunboats and Corvette are your biggest concern. Unlike ones you may have tangled with before, these will adjust and fire behind them. The corvette will constantly be turning. It also has around 22 weapons on it.
If you manage to get it killed, it will be worth 40k XP. At that point, though, you won't care about XP much. You'll just be happy you're still alive.

Wasn't an exploit. I thought it was a valid tactic. Big ass engines blocking the guns. You could still do it in XWA. You just had to have your approach vector perfect and stay with it move for move. It was harder to do it, yes, but it could still be done.

Its the imperial corvette. I took the reb mission for the fact that Novall used to be a rebel.
On the lighter side...the privteer reward is a Privateer Ace Jacket. Its just a grey jacket with wierd button-ups on the front.
I'm only a 2/2/2/1 pilot (will be 2/2/2/2 after tonight) but I'll help if I can. I don't know about having to be Rebel or not but I haven't helped on missions requiring me to take down Tie Interceptors, Tie Advanced and Tie Bombers so I should be able to help out.
