What's your favorite sport to participate in?

Basketball and Volleyball.

Team sports where skill and teamwork are just as important, if not more so, than athleticism. Not that I have anything against athleticism (I was once accused of being an athlete many moons ago).. but as I age, it is nice to still be able to compete by using good technique and some brains.

The social aspects of teamwork is one of my favorite things. You have to know what you can do, as well as what your team and opponents can do. You then have to do things that help your team as much as possible, while making the opposition struggle as much as possible.

When teamwork works it is an amazing thing. Team sports taught me that. In today's society so much focus is on the individual, I feel many never truly understand this.

Sadly, I RARELY get to play anything anymore.

My new sport is chasing my brood. :D

No sport will pwn you like that one. It kills you on the endurance.. gives your biceps a killer workout, and is mentally challenging beyond my ability to describe. ( you parents know what I am talking about )

Paintball... We used to have a team we called the Shadows (I know, super corny) and we were so intense people wouldn't play us because "you guys take it too seriously." we got that reputation after my friend started telling stories about me. I wish I didn't have to vouch for myself on this one, but it was really bad.

My first match: Clubbed someone with a log, and played the rest of the game with their gun (since I didn't have one yet)

After I had a crappy pump: Was allowed to wear body armor because of my gun/handicap. Engaged in melee combat over a game of CTF.

Protect the president: I was president and fell off a cliff while dodging fire (20ft drop) funny part to this one; I thought I would fall in the river at the edge of the cliff, but there was a 3ft wide ledge of gravel. needless to say I got up and tried to run, was gunned down from above...

Once I had a decent gun and my Bro started playing: Became notorious for using a spade, machete, or K-bar. Mainly because people didn't honor the fact that I gave them the option to surrender within 20ft (if I had surprised them, otherwise I have no problem shooting under 20ft)

Another guy on the Shadows: Waited for 45 minutes waist deep in a creek in mid January (snow on the ground) without making a sound, just to score a kill on his brother.

I was shot in the thigh by my own teamate and it bled.
Once I was shot in the finger with it 3in. from the barrel. <-- happened because I surrendered, then changed my mind.

other than paintball I like to play backyard football. Its much cheaper and I can get hurt just as much. being 5ft 5in tall doesn't bother me.

If anyone disputes any of these stories I can find witnesses and have them post... I know one who witnessed all of them, who is in Germany atm.

Yeah, but it's got one helluva "pre-season", though!

That's why it's called "scoring".

Tree Spearing!

This unique sport can only be enjoyed while fully enebriated! Take note to be in a rural country area as well.

Step 1: Defile thy self with extreme prejudice and don't spill your alcoholic beverage; There are sober kids in China, damn it!

Step 2: Find a reasonably sized tree you think you can take!

Step 3: See if you can tree spear that sucker out of the ground full force, yo!

-Warning-

The publisher of this sport will 'not' be held responsible for any injuries obtained while attempting to achieve a successful tree spearing. But, feel free to try, try, try again when you fail that first time.
