I'll stop whining... for like a day. Wouldn't that be a record?

I would recomend, on any public event like this, that one person be kinda OOC so that players involved in the event and direct other players intrested in for Q&A and RP 101.

A Event Liaison

If they decide to participate, then the liaison can direct that player back to coordinators.

The coordinators job is to keep the involved players busy and direct people who want to join and have questions to the liaison.

I spent a good portion of my time answering questions in tells and it was kind of hard to direct people at the same time. I wound up standing doing nothing while people waited on me.

maybe have another player ready to step in and help with questions, or tell them "watch and learn"

I really haven't chimed in for awhile as it seems everytime I post something contrary to public opinion/belief I get shit for it. I'm not really apart of this community or game any longer but I believe that being a veteran player(many of you know me) entitles me to some kind of opinion.

LA/SOE have shitted out continuity. The game is more suited to light roleplaying.

I've played this game since launch..and I'll tell you now that roleplaying in SWG is becoming dead, in my opinion. I had invested numerous hours into my character only to have Sony erase my profession and massively nerf my other ones. My entire backstory, everything washed down the tubes. I know the arguement that it's Sony's game and they can do what they want et al. ..I don't care. I hated to leave my character behind with all the work I put into him.

The fact remains that the game is just not fun for RP anymore(again an opinion)SOE's problem stems from creating an elitist class. Unfortunately, I don't know if you can make such a broad cultural MMO like Star Wars without giving users the experience of being a Jedi. It was only a matter of time before gank squads and griefing began. What is needed is a structure similiar to WOW and although people really seem to hate WOW and people that advocate similiar changes I'm gonna say this anyway:

1. Create RP servers with a RP rule set. Enforce them. No Jedi at all.

2. Create RP/PVP servers where everyone is flagged all the time.

3. Create normal servers with every profession including Jedi.

I think this would bring back players and roleplayers for that matter and leave all the kiddies by the wayside. Just my two cents, take it as you will.

Yes, it would be good to have an RP server, as it would be good to have many other things. But we have only what we have. So far, I've been able to do much more RP than before the NGE...possibly because those who like to fight are getting bored with the dumbed down version of fighting?

And yes, I'm having to recreate my character. This event gave impetus to that recreation. And I, too, enjoyed watching the AT-AT, big eyed like any other commoner.

I volunteer to be question answerer at the next public crackdown, whatever we decide to call them. The first time we try something new...well, it is just a learning experience. Gives us ideas on how to do it better the next time. Despite the problems, it really did work decently. I stuck around, and watched while roleplaying.

All those Imperial uniforms did make it seem more Star Warsy, lol.

since day one we have cried out for an RP server. SOE doesn't care.
