Agreed.Ekade wrote:Even so, I still prefer results based DR (difficulty rating) and not template based DR.
Results based DR accounts for the skill of the mark, their typical level of preparedness, weapon quality, and all those intangibles.

Ooh I gotta disagree with the Purple Lady this time. I know I'm going to get such a lashing for that.
I don't think Marks should be afraid to display their templates. BHs will fight how they fight best. It doesnt' matter if you fight a master melee profession or master riflemen, you're going at it with your best skills.
Plus its more realistic. I'd like the think BHs could access info on their Marks and know what they're good at. "This Zannon person is pretty good with a pistol, better watch his sidearm."
The problem with ranking Marks based on escapes is the Marks are temp characters. Lets say I make a Mark named Billy Bob and I survive one BH attack but die on the second. Then I start another alt named Jimmy Joe but now that record of beating a BH is gone. No good there.
I think the skill based ranking for marks is the easiest route.
- A Mark places their profile up
- The Mark lists their professions. Simple system:
-Master Elite - 5 points
-Master Minor - 3 points
-One full tree in an elite profession - 1 point
-One full tree in FS Skills - 2 points
(So if a Mark is a Master Marksmen, Master Pistoleer and Smuggler 4/0/0/0 his/her rating is a 9)
- The Client sees their point rating (in this case a 9)
- The Client bases their bounty reward on difficulty (9 = 90K)
That make sense?

No. It is overly complex.Seret the Crack Monkey wrote:That make sense?
In the EPMRS (Ekade Player Mark Rating System), Mark stats are based on Player, not TME (Temporary Mark Entity). Ekade has a DR, De'sire does not.
If you want Hunters to have access to their Mark's template, that is a seperate issue.. it need not have anything to do with the rating system. The Hunters already have the advantage of 1) having initiative, and 2) being full combat types. If you feel they need to know everything about the Mark in addition to that, that is fine.
Aww.. heck.. we need a poll for this. :P

How about this?
1 point for each of the below:
1 - 2 combat boxes in FS Skills
1 - 4 combat boxes in an elite.
1 - 8 combat boxes in an minor.
- Master combat elite box
- Master combat minor box
Works out the same cost but is a little more fluid.
At least use this a a guideline for the bounty. if not for the ranking system.
Master Marksmen, Master Pistoleer, Smuggler 4/0/0/0 & Brawler 4/0/0/0 - rating = 9
Master Marksmen, Master Pistoleer, Smuggler 0/0/4/0 & Brawler 4/0/0/0 - rating = 10
Course, it's 2 am and the brain is starting to malfunction.

I have to agree with Seret on this one. Not everything that takes some effort is complicated. The thing is maybe a master TK has been beaten 3 times for some reason and has a rating of 0/3. I see this when searching the bounties on open marks and like hmm, I can handle that and the reward is only 50k because apparently he's an easy mark. Well I with no Melee defense being a BH and all pop up and have my rumpus handed to me in short order despite being buffed and the mark not being buffed. I'd be a little annoyed that someone like that was rated so poorly. By posting his template and determining his rank that way, it's much easier for everyone to know how hard he really is.

Instead of "ranking" we should have a "hit list." this list will encompase the names and professions of all the bounties a BH has collected and in cases where it repeats how many times. This will allow the BH to build a rep and it will give those seeking to place bounties a list of the more acomplished Bounty Hunters if they wish to contract a specific BH. Simple place to store this info is on the profile page (note I'm taking about the web page and not the board). Doing this will ensure that a BH can't make up bounties and if its updated once every other month it may not be as much of a monster to deal with.

Oh yes, statistics and reputation are always fun.
We just need to find a way to get bounties posted. Bounty hunters want to be paid for their services. The Clients don't think these services are worth buying.
