Kordell Stewert's name shall not be mentioned here either
Sorry. I know the Bears picked him up. But he's not starting is he?

Kordell's a backup for the Ravens isn't he? I think he had a brief stint with Buffalo. Either way, 'slash' never really panned out. I'll tell you what though a close friend of mine is a HUGE Steelers fan so i keep an eye on them. If they can get their defensive backfield fixed and upgrade their OL a bit they're gonna be a force to be reckoned with. Last sunday, vs. Oakland the Steelers were owning them the whole game but gave up a couple BIG plays over the top to tie it up. Thankfully the kicker got it done. The addition of Duce Staley is going to pay dividends. Maddox is lame, but should be serviceable. Kendrell needs to get healthy.

Actually, I believe the quote is:

Bad Guy: "He's so drunk, I bet he's seeing DOUBLE."
Doc Holliday: "I've got two guns for you, Music Lovah: one for each of ya."

Music Lover being a reference to an earier scene with the same guy involving a piano.

Excellent movie.

The Ol' Gridiron is a meatwagon so far this season, injuries to key players plaguing and sometimes seriously effecting teams' season outlook.

Here, take a look for yourselves and wear a sympathy band-aid for your most agonizing player loss.

Injuries by team, alphabetized: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/injuries

Even my dear Cleveland Browns had a heartbreaking casualty sheet last week against the Dallas Cowboys. Eight starting players were injured in that game including promising rookie Kellen Winslow, Jr. Getting more than his share of new rookie limelight, and surely beyond that due to his Hall of Fame dad KWSr. I looked at the younger Winslow with reserve when he was drafted. Then I saw him play. The kid's got game for the NFL to my surprise. But, in the last seconds of the Dallas game, a broken leg has downed him for the rest of the season. Gahhgg!

One thing that I don't get though. With all the suffering in the NFL, Tiger Woods, the Kwisatz Haderach of pro golf, is getting all the sympathy attention. I dunno, but from what I see Big Tiger is doing allllllriiiiiight.

I think there's a joke in that they're playing at Shinnecock Hills.

Man, one deleted "n" and you've got instant porn movie.

Ya! I have yet another version which I think it is...

Doc - And you, music lover. You're next.
Music Lover - Heh, the drunk piano player. You're so drunk, you're proabably seeing double.
Doc - I've got two guns... one for each of ya.

A side note about that movie. For the life of me I couldn't figure out who the dealer in the casino was that Kurt Russell smacked around. It was killing me then I saw it in the credits. Billy Bob Thorton. Man, he has lost some weight since then.

I've been a Panthers fan ever since they entered the league.

*hold for gasps*

Um, yeah, so anyways, I'm really glad to see football starting up again; probably more so than most of you since I think it could be the year of the Panther so to speak. Delhomme has looked good, the D-line has looked great, and I really hope Smith and Davis get healthy quick.

Yeah, really does seem like a lot of Bears fans around here. Quick predictions for Super Bowl Champs anyone?

Seattle? I think so.

CBS and the NFL seem to think that people in Harrisburg PA area would rather watch the Ravens than the Steelers.

I hate people who think too hard.
Not sure, Arifo, but I think that it might have to do with the Ravens being one of the more "marquee" teams in the last few years. CBS/NFL are looking at the ratings.

While it does suck for a fan, I could see it all changing in Pennsylvania TV markets when the Steelers become a force again. I say when, because I think old man Rooney (the owner) has the long term vision.

And you guys were Superbowl bound there in 2002 if not for 2 Kordell Stewart interceptions within 40 seconds of each other. I was actually rooting for you guys that game and I'm from Cleveland!
No in actuality the ratings for the Ravens suck here. People in this area root mostly for Pittsburgh, Philly, or Washington. All the rest are bandwagon people or oddballs from out of state.

And Neil Odonell should have never left Pittsburgh. He was perfect for that team and never quite fit in anywhere else. There is only one QB for the Steelers had that I hated worse than Kordell, BUBBY! He sucked big dog...

Superbowl picks? Too early for me to say, Ringo. Not before Week 5 or so. Sometime after all the final cuts and positions are made.

As for the Seahawks, I like them, but I don't see them beating out your Panthers down the road.

And Arifo, O'Donnel was a decent QB, I agree. Though he tended to sidearm it a bit too much for my tastes. Too bad about the Ravens viewer situation also.

{Too tired to make individual quotes tonight}

I hope the Superbowl is Pittsburgh - Carolina! I think that would be a tense game. A technical knife fight between two specialists. Two grinding teams.

Carolina can kiss my ass. Go Seahawks!

It's not so much that Carolina won, but that Bears Defense lost.
