Since somebody mentioned it I wanted to remark on the pilot chatter in the original movies...my dad was a ham (amateur radio guy) when I was growing up and I've always really loved the way the Alliance chatter sounded...'cause it reminded me of Dad's radios. Heheh.

If you love it in SW you should go check out THX-1138. Lucas evidently really loved the way WWII era radios sounded, because the Probe Droid "mumbles" are all over the place in THX.

Now I am going to go old school on you Dwilah..
Before the internet was commonly used, Bulletin Board Systems were popular among geekdom. A BBS worked a lot like these forums. You would dial up with your modem, the computer on the other end would answer and you could participate in the forums. Of course most had ONE phone line, so if someone else was using the BBS, you had to wait.
The name you are known by was called your handle, a word taken from radio geeks.

Hey, I know my dad's call sign by heart. For several years we were dragged to Field Day every year. Like a damn LAN party except in the middle of a forest and with tents and campers and the kids chased rabbits while the hams chased signals in like, China and crap.

Oh now ya did it. Now you're gonna call Jabe, the Master of the BBS, upon this thread and you SHALL KNOW HIS WRATH.
(I just mean when it came to BBSs back in the day, Jabe was da man)

Zannon wrote:Admiral Piett...without a doubt. He's one of the few Imp officers to actually get killed by the alliance on screen...the rest of them just get killed by Vader. Besides that, I've just always been intrigued by his character. He was just a military man doing his job. I view him as the Erwin Rommel of Star Wars.
Except he was the space fox..

Well, I've gotta say my favorites are Wald, the Rodian buddy of Anakin and of course, Salacious Crumb.

I love all the rebel pilots.. their roles are so pure. Basically contribute to the radio chatter for a few minutes as the tension builds.. then scream "I'm hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!" as sparks fly all around them.
There is one rebel pilot in Episode IV who TOTALLY over-acts his part.. I think he was Red Leader. He just cracks me up.
The one who sounded like he was from Texas?

The dopey rebel who says, "Two fighters against a Star Destroyer?"

Or how about the idiot that says, "Pick up your visual scanning."...as if they were flying around with their eyeballs hanging out of their sockets.

Wait, they call him Wald now? You know in the original transcript that was supposed to be Baby Greedo, right?
