Jep. I've seen the bad side of that situation before. Guy was really asking to be made an example of though.

I need those torches! When I'm dungeon loot raiding, I need a backup in case my Wizard dies. :D

Ahhh, remember those PnP days?

Remember em? Hell, I still do em. Got a game friday night when I get to introduce my evil bastard character. (Paladin died.) I'm still pissed the DM canceled Tuesday night's game. :P

WooT!

And, no doubt about it, if I could find someone locally who could play the James Bond 007 RPG, SWG would have some serious competition for my freetime (closest group that knows it is 300 miles miles away; webcam just wouldn't be the same, I think).

You don't need someone who knows the system, just willing to learn it. Half the guys in our group have never RPed before this, so they're still learning it. Me, i've done it for a while as has another guy. We have a bad habbit of 'power gaming', so we've been dubed the 'rule rapers'.

If I could find a group to play L5R with, SWG would have serious competition as well.

L5R? What's that, Tram? I'm not familiar with it.

L5R = Legend of the 5 Rings (Collectible Card Game)

Gaaralow and I were hardcore L5R players. He the devout Dragon Player, me with the nasty Monk deck. Great game, really fun.

I could never really get into the card or minature games. Any game where I have to go buy more shit to every month or so just to compete ain't worth the time. D&D and SW all I need is the one time investment on the books, and i'm set for life.

Amen, Brudda. Now if only I had you willpower. I CAN overcome this need to buy more crap. I will not buy another thi..... ooooh look at the SW minature game coming out. Gotta have 'em!

Heh. If only it were that easy. What I save by not buying minatures and cards, i waste on electronic games and software. (i'm too lazy to look for hacks/freebies)

L5R actually did have a PnP game (I remember once seeing it years later at Barnes and Noble). Anyone ever get into that?

No. We looked it over and I think Gaaralow bought it but we just never got around to play it.

Though during a period were I bought minatures SOLEY to paint them (because I love painting something that small) I picked up a HUGE minature (I know, oxymoron) of the Earth Dragon from L5R. Damn thing looked cool. Too bad it came with 2 left legs and since it was discontinued I couldn't do a damn thing about it.

Ahh, I see. No, I was never one for the fantasy card games.

Laff! It's funny how a thread can loop. The first post in this thread is me knocking card games for video games. And now it indirectly comes back to card games. Thread deja-vous.
