I miss and use that quote whenever I was playing any X game after that (Tie, XvT, etc.)

I always prefered the TIE fighter one. the storm troopers just pointed their guns at you and looked eager to kill.

Yeah, I don't know a single person who prefered XWing to TIE Fighter.

I have to admit that those games got progressively better as they came out...until X-Wing Alliance. The interfaces to take missions were awkward and the random melee generator was not as good as the individual missions that XvT and XvT:BoP had. XW:A just took too long to get into and a lot of the starting missions were just too bland and uninteresting. XvT and BoP are still my favorites in terms of being great SW flight sims...and not because I made the best custom campaign EVER for BoP.

I still have to give you mad props on that. It was the shiznit. It's rare that player-created content is BETTER than that which shipped with the actual game. I just wish I wasn't so burned out on XvT at that point, because I would have enjoyed your missions that much more.

I don't know. Custom Campaigns had some killer stuff for Starcraft. Once you got them all to work correctly, there were few that weren't better than the original game. They even lent some of their voice actors to my "Homecoming" campaign, which I like to think also rocked.

Bah. I could never get XvT to work on my comp, and by the time I got it, I could never find BoP. I played some XWA games online, and there were a couple of good campeigns made. I still have the text file of the 'debreifing' of the events. If only I could've conned that punk into playing a couple of my campeigns....
