Another thing to keep in mind is that Dwilah is a very good pilot...better than most I've seen. She also targets her opponents' components to cripple them quickly, so she can then finish them off after all threats are disabled. Targeting a ship's reactor will put it out of a fight quicker than just targeting the ship.

As are all members of Fox Force Five. I did the same thing to Jabe way back. :P

I have to back up Zannon's point, Dwilah is one hell of a pilot. She won't admit it but I've flew a few missions with her and she cleaned house quick. Though that still doesn't mean in PvP she should be able to take out Dooo is just a few shots. What it should mean is the PvP space battles should last a good amount of time between players so they are more fun and exciting.

Maybe eventually the devs will give players a sort of Damage Mitgation to their ships that effects PvP more than it effects PvE. Something to hope for in the FAR FAR future I guess.

I agree.. the shields are far too weak compared to the guns. It seems they are balanced more for PVE than PVP.

NPC's have a hard time getting a bead on you. A player will hit you at at least 5 times the rate of an NPC.

When I hear people like Novall talk about their "4000" guns.. it becomes clear to me that he can pop anyone in 2 hits.

Maybe they will do a PVP damage reduction like they do in the ground game.

Dwilah owned me. Blew my engines in 5 seconds..... That sure was a fun ride back to the station. 66 speed, lol. Also, last time i needed help, i was picked on too , And everyone already knows my ship is a peice of S***

Yes, she is a very good pilot. I too always target the reactor so that i can take everyone out quicker. My only problem is that i never got a shot off. She was way to fast. I only hit her about once... that did nothing. My other problem is that everything takes credits, something i have few of. My whole ship is looted components, and i can't really buy any crafter made parts because i need the credits for repairing my ship when it needs it, my house matanence, and a few other things that have really put a hole in my pocket. So with all this said, i don't think i will be seeing any space PvP for a while.

I am already looking at needing to replace my x-wing chassis, and I have not PVP'd in it once. All my deaths are from missions.

Even so, I'd still like to try some space PVP. Now that I know we can duel and privateers can participate, I am even more excited.

Maybe someone wants to take on FF5?

You may want to start using crafted repair kits instead of repairing at the space stations. Space Station repairs take down your chassis points while self-repair does not. And be wary of those all-purpose repair kits (made by Master Artisans, not Shipwrights). It is said they have a high chance of failure and ruining your parts.

Not fear, they are just too distracted with other things to bother with acheiving space travel.

But seriously.. the the flow of information from the dev's is outright horrible most of the time. I could have saved a lot of wear and tear on my chassis had I known the repair kits are a work-around to the pernament decay that space stations inflict.

Gotcha.. what scares me is that the weakest of the 3 blasters on my x-wing does close to that. Is space PVP going to be a 1 shot ordeal?

Lets experiment and find out.

I love the concept of the a-wing, but what scares me is that it does not seem to be significantly better at avoiding fire than any other ship. Maybe I am wrong about this, but I've tried to dodge and weave and it does not seem to help much. Anyone else try to evade fire with any success?
