What a reversal from the posts saying buffs in the BH system are bad...I hunted my mark (ekade) unbuffed as I was instructed, I challenged when I saw her and began some rp, (spam made Ekade miss the challange) and so when she accually did accept and the fight began, she was in my face with weapon at hand (while I was in the middle of typing some story to why I was there!), but when I made my move (and saw her enter the cantina) she was un prepared. since the duel was not accepted within 60 seconds like the BH system states, and buffs were used the fight was dumb, all spam and over in a flash.

I request this failure to be considered an OOC duel and that I get a fair chance to complete this bounty, (at least let us replay the senario, I did have my gun out and pointed at you before you had your weapon out, and you were 25m away, not point blank with your weapon out ready to kill me :P)

I asked you in a tell if you wanted to do this.. and you said yes. I was buffed from a hunting trip (killing stormies on Dant). You could have had a beer and moved along, waiting for a better opportuity.

and thats a valid point , all im griping about is how I challenged you when I had a chance to shoot you, but it was accpeted a lot later when you were already in my face with weapon out , if that had been how you entered the cantina, I would have kept to myself.

I say do over. It should be a forgone conclusion that we do not fight buffed PERIOD. As much of a stink as people have put up about it, then its good as gold to me.

No asking, no replying, no nothing. If your buffed...your untouchable till the buff is gone.

In my book that should be an end of story, and I'm gonna put that in the BH rules right now.

Not taking side in this what so ever. I'll be happy to take this mark myself just as I've done others in the past, but I'd rather give the newer members a chance to do a few.

If were gonna make rules and have agreements, lets stick to em.

Yeah but... sometimes the hardest part about a bounty is finding said person. The system could easily be abused by someone saying "I'm buffed, sorry". Yeah I know its a trust system, but this seems to be a big hole we just opened.

I dont see the need to communicate with marks till you found em. Especially in an OOC manner. I dont think I've ever had to ask a mark where they were ingame...or what what the best time to hunt em. We have posted associates and informants for the marks so that you can physically "hunt" them without having to do things like /findfriend or wait for em to get on ect ect.

How hard is it to look at someone's HAM and tell if they are buffed? If your not sure and you think its spice...hang around, cause pretty soon your gonna see the downer which means their as good as dead anyhow.

my point is:

We said were not hunting using buffs, and were not. I personally instructed her NOT to use em after she asked me if she could/couldn't because I OOC expected everyone to not fight if their buffed.

Fine, Do Over is acceptable. Now that I think about it, both the hunter and I goofed the encounter. In the future hunters should avoid duelling buffed marks. Marks should not abuse this loophole.

However, the Situng situation brings up another point... the engagement.

Situng and I engaged in a dialog before the fight broke out. I found out half way through the conversation that the the duel had already been issued (lost to me in the spam of the Eisley cantina).

I was not sure that I was being hunted by this hunter until that point. By this point, we were already standing pretty close and talking.

I am trying to think of what is fair in this scenario. How do we acheive a balance between fairness and realism and still allow for a nice scene to unfold (RP banter and all)?

Situng probably would have shot me as I drew closer. Do we allow foe banter, then have the hunter tell the mark to go to a specific distance for the fight to begin if such a thing happens?

Well Rping as a BH is the funnest thing I have ever done. I for the most part love it except the skill of master BH is not all that great so I rather just keep some of BH rather then go for master.

Ok, I've split all the posts that seemed to be related to the interaction between the Mark and Hunter into another thread as this one seemed to be getting derailed. Back to the hunt.
