Are weapons like this looted or created?

I have to agree with you there.

Not only that, it puts too much emphasis on weapon over player skill in personal combat.

At master level in this game the only thing that seperates people is ther weapons , armor, and knowledge of their chosen profession. everyone is the same at master "skill" wise.

Rare weapon loots are not bad things. I just wish they were:

A) special damage types
B) Higher than craftable damage
C) Not given dots.

The thing that killed combat was really DOT's. Its why I quit PVP. I used to do multiple base raids each and every day I was a squad leader. One day the number of cm's outnumbered the rest of the players at a base and I decided to sling my carbine across my back and walk away from it all.

Looking back DOT's were the greatest thing that could have happened to me ingame. They allowed me to explore the rest of the game and start to heavily RP. My characters always rp'd but I had been mostly around power grinders. I started to actively seek out roleplayers and the game was fun again. It quit being a grind and the search for the next great loot toy.

That being said I would like to see PvP return to what it was. I loved the epic battles in New Hope and in Crim's cities. Where 50+ would show up on each side and crash the server 3 times fighting out faction battles. Then the two hours afterwards sitting in the cantina's and healing up with all your friends. The poisons and disease have been somewhat slowed but the mind fire weapons are killers.

Wait a second...there were people that ACTUALLY spent skill points on squad leader? That must been like in ancient times.

I have yet to see someone in game with one of the Squad Leader tags up. I have even seen the elusive CSR's with their yellow name tags. But no squad leaders.

I was a master squad leader/master carbineer for my first 4 months on this character. I saw it as the perfect combo. In game mechanics made it a horrible combo then. Of course I didn't have buffs, armor, or food back then like I have now.

But generally speaking your squad leader would want a small fast weapon to dispatch enemies. There was another in my guild but she went fencer. in hindsight that was probably a better way to go for once you actually go into the base. But I chose squad leader for my characters story, not because I wanted an uber template.

After the death of PvP I went to a bit more loner status and became a bounty hunter.

Now I realize I enjoyed hunting with groups of people more than on my own and have switched to pike.

Pikes are fun. They have the coolest animations for their high level attacks, in my opinion. Go pikes!

Well, to be honest I usually wore no tag because I didn't want to be known as a squad leader. They are targets on raids and if you ever wear any of the tags people remember. With the few that existed at that time it was rare to have more than one with you on a mission and worse yet they were the last in the sequence to take out a base so they had to be protected the longest.

Arifo was a Bio-Engineer/Doctor and she used to go on base raids with me because it was even harder to find one of them.

(Note I was a rebel during this time period)

LOL I had an Alt that actually mastered ranger while working on CH :P

The most frustrating part? Going to remote places looking for that rare pet, scanning the area and getting absolutely nothing showing. Then taking a few steps and seeing a lair spawn.

Although.... a master ranger would probably be very useful in the Bounty Hunter system..... being able to see a list of all players in a 400m radius and their direction and distance?

LOL. I had a friend that would always find me in really strange places (pre mounts/vehicles) by using that. I would be surveying or something and here he comes over the hill at me. "hey i was just in the area and I saw you..."
