People behind the Characters!

Seriously, we play with a bunch of geezers around here.

I know what a record is...I think I heard one once. Some ass was calling it a "vinyl". What is up with THAT crap.

Did you guys smell the dittos after your teachers handed out a freshly ditto'd worksheet, too?

Named Sarah, 22 years old, live in Tennessee (technically, I'm like two miles from the state line...), like to draw, and am currently covered in printing press ink from school! BWA! Art marjor (Graphic Design/Illustration dual major). I'm one of those dorks that goes around dressed in costumes on days other than Halloween and months other than October...and I'm currently looking at making a handmaid costume (the flame one..) or the ballgown from Labyrinth. I still like the original Ninja Turtles (I have all three movies on DVD) and am a massive geek who wants to learn how to make PVC armor so I can make me a Master Chief costume or Stormtrooper costume... To lazy to dredge up a picture and throw it on photobucket or something... That is all and was much longer than I meant...huzzah.

the gun in the pick is my personal fav. It cost me $50 and I bought it for my wife. She played one day and vowed never again. The rules that day were thus: I must be on her team. I must not leave her behind.
outcome: Her and her loud sister tromping through the woods behind me giving away my possition. entire enemy group attacks and surrounds us. (many times this happened) after a short fight Im the soul survivor, armed with the original Pihrana (a funky old pump that resembles a sawed off shotgun, sounds like an m47 and has a wooden grip) I could not do enough rolls, jumps, or diveshots to save my life. I took many hits and half way through the day went and bought her her own gun so I could use my antique tippman prolite custom (the little kiddies call me the stealth with the relics).
It was an unacceptible metalic blue, which I customed to the beautiful shark pattern I developed. Its cheap reliable, and now its stealthy.

26. I am in the army and that is about all I'll say about what I do for a living. I have been married since may 2000.

Went to college for a short stint at University of Kentucky (EE). I attended a community college for a while and then decided to serve my country. (had decided long before but those idiots in ROTC didin't want to give ma a scholarship)

in the time that I am not online gaming I brew my own beer, shoot a lot of darts, and engage in several team based sporting events. I do not play paintball nor have I ever wanted to. (No offense whar, it just doesn't appeal to me)

Life's ambition is to be filthy stinkin rich, and find a desolate place in PA to call home. Preferably all 80 acres+ of it.

Cable TV did not exist. When "On TV" came out, it was a big deal.

We did not watch MTV to see music videos.. we watched "Friday Night Videos"

The internet existed.. but the general public was oblivious to it ( and it's purpose).

Oh yeah.. I was alive when Star Wars came out!!! AND.. almost old enough to understand what was going on.
Ok... now I feel old too. I still remember watching Star Wars (with comprehension enabled :) ) in front of a big wooden Zenith console TV with a VCR that had a "wired" remote, yes the cable from it lay across the floor. I remember the first time we "bought" phones and finding out it was possible to have two phones in one house and the delight of hooking up an Atari 2600 fresh outta the box.

Anyway to stay on topic, I am a happily married 29 year old software developer that lives in the south suburbs of Chicago. I have posted my RL pic of me and the wife here before, so do a search or something. :)

23 years old for me. We had an Atari 2600, too Jabe. You aren't THAT old balls yet. We had one o' them TV's with the wood paneling on the side, too. And I am glad that I am not the only person here who used to smell dittos. My elementary school had one of those machines on reserve incase the photocopier broke down...which it did from time to time.

I loved those days. Made Mrs. Dunton infinitely more bearable.

Wow.. that remote was low-tech. My parents had a voice-activated model. In fact, their remote could also retreive items from the kitchen and attempt to adjust the antennae for better reception.

"10th anniversary of your 23rd birthday" does not make it sound any better. Though I do appreciate the attempt. Yeah, we can have our suprise party tomorrow or Friday if you like. We can pretend that the folks at the Roba are there for us.

I live in MD.
I'm married, with a child.

I work for a small end to end business solutions corporation out of VA.
I'm a network engineer/IT Staff person, I have been contracted to work on projects for, the white house, the Military, the G8 Summit, the white house communications agency, and more recently the presidential inauguration committee.

I design, build, troubleshoot, and work my ass off on computer networks.

I enjoy almost all forms of rock music, jazz, classical, and a very very minute amount of country.

I also enjoy long walks in the park, playing video games, and general messing with computers.

And yes I remember the smell of freshly ditto'ed purple ink worksheets. :P

I'm Matt, 17 years old and I've been playing video games since i was 5 when I got my SNES. From there I just played SNES and N64 doing the Mario and the Donky and the Diddy Kongs and the Banjo... But in 99 I got into Dreamcast and started doing the game piracy stuff and all that goodness... Massively online gaming on the Dreamcast... In 9th grade I became a PC gamer when I started playing EverQuest which created two of the most blissfull (despite some stuff going on in the home, which I don't really remember most of because I was camping the phat lewt) years of my life. Fall of 2003 I ruined my reputation in EQ by being massively better than some people 10 levels higher than me and pretty much quit EQ in november. December 31st 2003 I got a buddy key for Star Wars Galaxies and from there I was playing that until now, and some CoH and EQ2 where applicable.

Mainly I love video games and aspire to be a Teacher. Ultimatley I want to get some sort of Apartment around here and teach History at my High School. I'm also massively into Star Wars and a bunhc of other things that none of you really care about...

So in conclusion, yeah everyone has allways been a number of good years older than me or my age while playing games. The middle ground is sparsely populated.
