NEW EXPANSION

Everyone has the right to be upset about the fixes for their profession not being on the horizon. What we really can't complain about is this expansion. If not only because this is an option we either pay for or we don't we also have to realize they are finally adding a new planet. EpIII fueled or not we've been hoping for a new planet for a long time, and Kashyyyk was on our list. This means new areas to explore, new mobs, and according to them over a 100 new quests. Even Jump to Lightspeed got old real quick for some because space and its missions we very limited. With a new planet we'll have a lot more to work with.

Of course is part of the marketing for EpIII. The game itself is all part of the marketing for the Star Wars franchise. We are the fans, the many, the proud, the collectors. Once and a while something really cool that is related to the movies comes along and we buy it up with no shame. And why shouldn't we? This is our livelyhood. The expansion is meant to garner new players, not satisfy current ones. I say lets enjoy what they throw at us and cross our fingers that the patches down the line fix the problems as they go.

well, all I have to say is:
If some of the new limbs look kinda neat, Whar will be needing a couple of each... so get crackin' Dooo.
Be nice if you could rebuild yourself like grievous for less than 50 mil.... but then maybe it would stay a little rare.

anyway... I really dont care so much about wookies or their homeland. its not like I can go visit Rodia.
And I thought they lived in the treetops anyway, says that in the archives.
I hope this is a free expansion, im sick of paying so much for this anyway. They promised us space flight in the beggining then made us pay for it. I guess I know this will cost me another $40 or so...

Kasshyk is supposed to be extremely dangerous on the ground. =) And I hope docs and droid engineers have to work together to create the limbs.

WOOT, Gaminos now has a place where he can start up the Wookiee religion thing. Now I just have to wait a long time and thousands of beta testings. Anyhow, I cannot wait!

If the combat Upgrade does its job...Dwilah will no longer be just a buff and rez bot, she will be attached to me at the hip..and I mean it, that and a combat medic are gonna be two things we will need to surivie on Kasshyk, a big reason as to why its so dangerous down there..very little light, the tall tress block out most of the light so Im hoping new limbs or goggles with infared or somthing would be neat.

I'd be happy if they'd just give the Special Edition people the Japanese Glasses instead of the crappy ones we got.

However as I mentioned before I like the idea of adding the wookiee Planet. Sure I hate that all the smugglers have pretty much left the game, and I wish SOE would do something for them, but I can't complain when they're at least giving us something everyone has probably said they wanted. Another planet.

I want just a robotic hand, not a whole arm just a hand. Jaminos Had his hand cut off in one point and had mone replaced that looks almost like a real hand but has a few built in things for the bounty hunter trade.

Now that I think of it a wookiee/Kashyyk expansion was something that I've been yearning for since day one. Followed a very close second by cybernetic limbs...

And maybe cookies will be included in the expansion box, so that fixes that problem.

If I'm sooo unvalidated and off base about this maybe I should hop on the other side with the rose colored glasses too and poo poo any voice of legitimate dissent.

Even if it means that all those player professions, not just Smuggler, won't be getting fixed this year most likely. What's another year of waiting to those deserved fans? Tough.

Well, I aam gad I gave the devs a mounth to impress me. They have but If this is a big flop as the space expansion then I will not be happy. But I do like some the the space expansion for rp but otherwise I have had no other reason to use a ship. Well I use it for travel and have depended on it greatly but otherwise I have no need for it.

I got away from space and was just using it for instant travel, but I've started actually launching and shooting a few boogers here and there when I'm not in a big hurry...I find it really adds to my own personal immersion.

As for silencing legitimate dissent, Keer, that's not the point of slowing the flames. I think there's just value in slowing ourselves down sometimes--seems like whenever there's a new patch or new content, people automatically jump on the devs' backs like freakin' angry monkeys without looking at what they're actually getting.

I think you forgot to turn off the sarcasim. Look this game isn't peachy, we all know that. But neither is life. But you can just sit around and complain ALL the time. Eventually you lean to be thankful for what you have. We just have to take the same approch here.

Everyone here loves Star Wars, or else we wouldn't care about this game. We also have our own idea's on what Star Wars is, so it's impossible to make everyone happy. Now they've said this Expansion and the combat upgrade should be released at about the same time, so it's not like we have to wait years for them to fix these professions. Let's be thankful that they're planning on having it out in the next few months.

And not only are we getting the combat upgrade which has really been the #1 issue for 90% of the player community but we're getting another planet which probably another 90% of the population has been begging for. So they kill 2 birds by making it the wookiee planet since they've been feeling unloved, who cares what the planet is, it just expands the Star Wars Universe we have to play in.

Now I'm a "The glass is half empty" kind of guy myself but I don't think it's completely empty. So just give SOE a break, they're doing right by us so why blame them for starting to get their act together.

Im taking Keer's side on this one...
A new planet doesn't make up for the attrocities performed against us. The combat upgrade doesn't sound like a SMUGGLER upgrade either. When smugglers should be just as important as crafters and combatants. Its rediculous that they cant address a problem that has a movement behind it like the smuggler problem. adding new L3WT and little prizes doesnt smooth over a bullet wound.

That was a little too bitter for my taste, Keer. We get it, you hate this game for ignoring the problem with your profession and so many others. You proved you discontent by quitting. I mean why would you play a game you hate? Power to you and I'm happy WoW filled in the gap for you.

But we are still here. We're still playing, we're still having fun and don't try to tell us we should hate this new expansion because its not a problem fix. If they want to give us something new then I welcome it. If its an expansion I have to pay for then I will pay for if I deem it worth the cash. If its at something to game then I say bring it on.

But this bitterness has gone on long enough. What are you waiting for? A letter of apology from Lucasarts and SOE for not making you happy enough to stay? Nobody is saying they are problems that need to be fixed and are long overdue but do we really, truely understand what they are doing about it? Do we really think they are sitting around in some break room all day laughing at the smugglers?

Well, that's certainly one way of looking at things. Equally it could also be said that after time after time of disappointment that the expectation meter for you has been reset to the point that you can let it pass because, "it could be worse".

It could also be said that whenever the customers get the short end and smile, it's seen by Sony as okay to do it again because, "They're hooked on Star Wars. They'll get over it".

One of the main differences that I see and have seen before is that I'm not the type to tell anyone they're out of line for being hooked...unless and until they start telling me that I'm the one who's out of order.

That's just plain hypocrisy. I have a comment on an issue, I make it, not shorting anyone else's point of view. But responses come back as if I can't read the same thing that's read by everyone else. As if I have no basis because you don't see it the same. How dare I?

That "freaking angry monkey" response can go both ways when you take an honest look at it. It's the response that I get sometimes when I'm contrary to the "Love In". Once again, double standard in full effect.

Now I don't complain "ALL the time" either. But don't confuse giving credt where credit is due to giving the same amount of discredit where it's due. Fair? And don't jump on folks for doing it either.

And if anyone DID complain all the time (and I don't), yes it would be mis-guided for sure. But check the history. How many of that person's complaints would be off the mark? Really? Not every single complaint would hit, but the vast majority would be Luke-in-the-trench on the money. They don't just come out of nowhere folks.

Whoa, just saw this. Seret we've seen eye-to-eye on alot of things and I respect you and what you have to say, but once again I'll refer to my latest post.

I'm not telling anyone that they should feel exactly I do. I'm just saying how I feel and it looks like I'm being told how I should feel as well. Once again, equal time? If that's cramming it down anyone's throat, then there's cramming on both sides and it's not started by me.

Why are contrary opinions considered blasphemy? I love Star Wars too, but it's not religion. But if it looks like it is religion without the name, then consider me gagged.
