Because I (like many) am still gonna be here after it comes. I didn't get into SWG because of the combat queue. I didn't get into SWG because of the buff system. I doubt very much that many people did. I got into it because it is FREAKING STAR WARS. Its like a childhood dream to play a character in one of the coolest stories ever written.

We get too caught up in "MY profession is getting shot to hell" when we should be looking at an entire system. We habitually complain about things that haven't even been introduced to the game yet in an unobjective manner. Test center isn't the end all be all for the game, is it? How many times have we seen things from test center that never made it to the game?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions on the CU, no denying that. But can we at least keep the griping to the existing threads until we actually have a finished product? I can only take so many "the CU is going to damn SWG" threads per day. Its a rule I have.

Then we can complain until the cows come home. I might even join in! :)
I feel like I found my long lost wookiee brother!!
But seriously I am in total agreement with the Krusha!
I don't leave to play other games because I left a fantasty setting
MMORG (5+ years in UO) to come try a universe and setting that was new and different yet one I am familiar with. While I am much more a Trek fan then I am a SW nut, to me playing a sci fi setting made all the difference. No offense to AC, EQ2, WoW, etc but once I seen one "elf"
or one "orc" I pretty much get the idea. Krusshyk if you ever want a partner to go hunting with please feel free to give one of me a yell.

Maybe we should stage some battles just to try it...it sounds fun. :)

This way I can go up against wimpy entertainers and crafters like myself.. and not get pwned mercilessly by level 80's. In theory anyways. :D
Thats a really good point and not one I had considered, thank you my Icon!

I'm looking forward to the CU. The bits and pieces of time I've spend on the test center have made me happy. I believe that it'll be a bit of a change, but it will be a good change for the most part. It'll balance out the combat issues and not make certain professions beat the bejesus out of other profession. Sure, everyone's proffession is getting a bit of a change that can be good or bad or indiffrent. Weapons and armor are getting changed around and everyone's getting a little nerfing. I'm getting used to the idea of the creature levels changing and I think it'll be fine.

But, come CU or highwater, I, like others, will be staying for the friends I've made here and other places on SWG. I've tried playing other online games and don't want to be an elf or a sterotyped fantasy character. And some of them don't even have good communities were I can interact in character and just generally goof off by dragging a massive earth-shaker around town like an idiot. While I'm sure all the games have their good points, I'm happy playing in this universe that manages to blend a little bit of sci-fi and a little bit of the fantastic.

Our playing tactics will change, there'll be people that leave or gripe for ages, and life will go on. There'll be newbies that never knew life before the CU and they'll think the game is fine at as it is and maybe even think that it should have been this way since launch.

Bottom line from me and my rambling little post, I'll still be here because, at the end of the day, you folks make me grin in spite of having a really REALLY bad day and I still enjoy getting my butt kicked by kryats.

And I wouldn't change that. So there. Ha.
