In my first combat escapade last night after hours of reading up on the new skills, finding the new command text to write macros, and redoing my toolbars, I bounced around Lok, southwest of Nocturnus.
I steadily worked my way up through Lok Mercenaries, Marooned Pirates, and Spine Snakes. These were all well below my level just to get used to the faster command input pace again. Finally, I reached the outskirts of our old friends the Canyon Corsairs' territory. Once again, they were blow my level individually (45's to my 80), but there are so many of them out there it's no easy feat to fight them....unless you pull!
Ahh, yeah! The fine art of pulling is back on the scene more importantly. It really never left unless your used buffs all the time, but the AI seems to be alot more wary of the old tricks pre-CU. I skimmed a couple successfully from the mob, then suffered the bad pull that put several of them on me at once. I could have gotten away, but the fun of the combat kept me hooked into the fight as well as my curiosity for how far I could stretch mine and Keer's abilities.
A tad too long and I got killed. I cloned nearby to find that not only did I lose life, but Keer's right arm was now a giant can-opener! Yes, I hadn't realized that the cybernetics penalty was in effect now. I thought it was all going to be added in with RotW. Oh, well. Off I go to Coronet Med Facility's 2nd floor to get re-"organized" by the Specialist there.
And for a second, I almost kept the damn thing. As "basic" as was it still looked cool. However, the clincher came when I looked at the decrease to my overall abilities.
By the time I got all that straigtened out, it was server shutdown time. Pissed because I wasn't ready to leave yet like a kid at the amusement park. Oh, well, I had alot of fun learning. Found a bug to report and hope to see more of you all on Sunday when I'll be off with more time to spare!!
Let's form like Voltron and wreck shop!
