SWG Tales

Well I made it to Kasshyyk for the first time last night...and it was...

Different.

You are pretty much tethered to a path, with little freedom to move where you like...definitely very un-SWG like, but it's not so bad. They did it in a way that seems to make sense, so it doesn't bother me.

The fact that you can now loot most of the creatures and get little animal souvenirs kicks ass. If you loot a ro-roo you get a little paw. I got a snout, a tongue, some vials of blood, and a pelt from other creatures. That was neat. And the new loot that npc's drop is pretty neat too. Mystic tomes, glow sticks, potion ingredients...good decoration stuff and you can sell it to junk dealers. Heard prices were pretty good, but I can't confirm.

Trying to figure out who will give me a mission and I won't get my nuts stomped in. Anybody know?

The only thing I don't like about Kashyyyk is that I have yet to get any XP there. Everything, even the Rryatt trail was way below level 80.

Looking forward to testing on Kashyyk with more time. The abortive Beta then a turn back to mastering pilot detoured my plan to spend more time there.

I did take the two bounties from the starport Imp officer just to taste the flavor. One was a space mark that was multiple Tier 5's that quickly stomped my 4-3-4-4 solo pilot skills (thus the return to leveling pilot :lol: ).

The other was Jessk the Trandoshan that takes you to Tattooine. I liked the style that takes you to a few different places to talk to different informants and the scripted stories they have. Very similar to WoW, once again, which did that great.

The actual combat against the mark was he standard fare from before, except that he came out of nowhere. Definitely not where the NPC informant said he'd be near Tattooine...I don't know if that was a bug or not, but if not I really liked being taken by surprise. A good twist that a bounty hunter would have to account for now and then.

I was talkin to Jabe the day it came out and we both agreed that this may be a bit of a test run for how SOE might do Coursacant. I love the way it looks. It makes me feel as if I'm really in a jungle. The sound is supurb for the simple fact that while walking around you can hear the jungle around you as varrious animals make noise. THAT really imerses me into the jungle feel of Kashyyyk. I also like the change of pace from free form exploration to pathes. I havn't really spent a hole lot of time hunting there due to my respec problem but soon as it is fixed or my time is up I'll be returning to do some hunting.

24th, regarding to some online shops, but RotW won't be released as a single box as far as i know, only as part of the SWG Total Experience package (SWG, JTL and RotW).

The BARC speeder is a giveaway if you get the Total Experience, don't know if it will be available as a quest reward later ingame.
