I like Keer's idea of "Nym's Amnesty". And I think we should go with that.

Actually I am not sure if the guild war flag carries into space or not, but if it does I would prefer the entire Karthakk system to be under the amnesty.

As far as guilds fighting, lets get a list of guilds that are interested and their location. I would like myself and the rest of the community to consider each guild and its location carefully. As well as other aspects, including the maturity level of the guild overall. Not to mention and RP reason for them to fight.

Before anybody knocks this, just keep in mind we're still in the exploratory phase of this whole thing.

No they're still there and I spoke with Salous tonight and he's very intrestetd in getting MCI involved in this. (Mon Cal Incorporated).

I think that another consideration should be roster balancing. That is, each group nominating a set number of their members who will participate in the war.

The reason for this is to keep a smaller guild from being greatly outnumbered by the larger ones. Maybe a 10 against 12 would be cool, but 10 against 25 would be fun maybe once, then I think you'd just get tired of getting jacked or, on the larger side, bored from less of a challenge.

So, how about any interested guilds offer a best guess of how many of their members would be interested? Then once we have all the rosters we can compare the respective totals and come up with a limit for the "War Roster". The game mechanics would still count the entire guild being attackable, I believe, but only the War Roster (attackable participants) could be posted on this site and sent out as an email to all concerned. The individual guilds themselves would be responsible for the particular members participating.

The crucial (and honorable) part comes in being true to the War Roster and not attacking someone who's not on it even though the guild war mechanics make it possible. The same goes for those wanting to assist a guild member in an attack or defense when not being on the roster themselves.

I wouldnt like to call this a "war" but merely a more immersive level of RP. As far as the only letting so amany be "attackable", that really sucks the fun out of it for small guilds like MERCS who hire out to those small guilds needing a well trained unit to back them up.

Wild cards like us will be what makes this endevour very fun

True, but wild card or no, when Ahnk (or ANY dedicated crafter) is on crafting or running around collecting resources and gets smoked because her mighty Combat Level of 1 just isn't enough to cut it, is gonna suck hard ass.

For those people, I really think there needs to be a DO NOT DISTURB rule.

I can go with crafters not being hurt as long as their not trying to take advantage of that and act any way they want to. I havent met any atleast in Noct that I think would do that...but if one came up to me and said something I didnt like, then I'd probably smack em down (not giving a DB ofcourse.).

I am actually inclined to think fighing IN Nocturnus is better than fighting everywhere else. It is a bit more of a controlled environment. Then again, I'd like to see some RP preceed the battle. Don't just gank some poor crafter, maybe RP a capture or something.

Fighting everywhere but Nocturnus would be problematic in that there may never be any fighting. What's that point in that? If you want fighting, people who want to fight know where to go to find it.

Perhaps a convention should be adopted in that if you see someone completely unprepared for combat.. no armor, no weapons.. leave them alone. Or perhaps do like the people in "the other game" and sit to surrender.

well if you are a crafter and don't want to be attacked, put up your AFK and that could be the "leave me alone" sign

my monks went to war with another guild of evil tk monks... we made a few rules that helped make "when and where" to fight reasonable and roleplayesque.

-1st rule was no clonecamping (dont think we need to worry about that here )
-2nd there had to be a better reason than (i saw a red dot on the rader) to fight
-3rd going a long with that we had to be sure it was a person we were at war with...example my monks have brown robes, thiers were orange. so a person in an orange robe "could be an enemy" but just beacuse we saw someone in full comp and red to us, didnt warrent an attack.

so my point is unless your armor is your defining look (novall/malchiah/jaminos to name a few) if the war rule only attack when there is visual (no imaginary radar crap) proof that an enemy is close, i think fighting will break out fairly and more enjoyably.

this worked well in our war and it also makes logical sense to me btw if this idea was already mentioned, i appologize for the echo, i only skimmed some of the longer posts

Ok, lets make the rules of engagement. You could have no one gets attack if they're below CL "X". I agree with Ekade maybe there should be safe houses in Noct. but fighting in Noct. would make it feel more like the pirate hive it's suppose to be.
