Yes, and John Malkovich's Basie is one of the best portayals of a hustler on film.

I always wondered if Basie and his crew ever got that pirate boat with the machine gun and sailed the Yangtze for plunder. Would make a good story.

He also played in Reign of Fire as the guy leading the people in the castle. Hed some rough spots but I thought that was ag ood movie, and he did a good job in it.
