Ekade is just a character, she is not me. I don't RP me. She is an exaggeration of personality taken from bits of me and other people in my life. I play other characters that are very very different from Ekade. Ask anyone who has interacted with Crypta in WoW and they will tell you that my charaters are nothing alike.

Crypta is like the villain character I've always wanted to play here. She has no interest in making friends and talks down to everyone. Strangely enough, most people love it.

No offense, but a lot of it are because of those virtual (and in your case the real ones behind them don't hurt) breasts. Its much easier to play the dominating female toon, because little boys eat it up. Now i hope you know i don't mean this as a knock on you, its a general discontent i have with MMO's and RP in general. Everyone treats those virtual boobs differently than they do male toons. If a guy tries playing that dominating role, the common player will react with /rude and smartass comments and ridicule...a female toon acts that way and the common player is much more receptive. Its just a social norm though, have to accept it and move on.

It cuts both ways. Especially if some type of players find out there is a real girl behind the toon. When I first started dancing I received some really offensive tells when I answered "yes" to the question "are you a girl in real life". So sometimes I would say "no" or not answer ( and then they would generally think I was a guy ) depending on how creeped out I was feeling.

There are two players. Male toons, I can't remember their names but I want to send out a thanks you to.

A while ago when I was working on dancer the first time, There was the typical jerk hrassing and licking, kissing and basically sexually assaulting with LOL abuse.

These two players put on the best gay lover act I have ever seen and as soon as the jerk made his first comment they started hitting on him. It ended in a duel and the jerk losing in a matter of seconds.

Yes and no. Sure the "boys" love the female toon.. but the roleplayers I want to interact with are the mature kind. I put enough substance and thought into my characters to make that work.

I think there are more people over the age of 30 in my guild in WoW than there are under 30. By and large they love it when I log on as Crypta. She is undead.. by no means a "breasts" toon. They dig the RP.


I think a guy can play a dominating character. It's more a matter of how well you do it than anything. If people can tell you are a good person behind the character, if you are doing a great job of roleplaying that dominant character, they will respect that.

The first person I RP'd with that is a part of this community is Keer. Oh my did he have the best lines. <fans herself off>

Woot back atcha, lady. :-D All jokes aside, that was one of THE coolest game experinces since launch and a definite landmark in developing Keer Tregga. And the time in the game...buggy as hell as it was, but everything was so fresh and cool in those days.

Mos Eisely cantina was packed that day if I remember correctly and it was only the second time I'd been there since launch. Ekade and a few other entertainers were there, folks were all so new, and you just couldn't help but kick some RP. And yes, if I do say so myself, Keer's mack daddy lines would have made Lando Calrissian give some dap in respect. Jayuh! :lol:

Damn, I feel like Ben Kenobi when Luke called him "Obi-Wan". "That's an RP scene that I haven't heard about in a long time...a long time."

Yeah, ive noticed the whole treating of female toons differently thing too. I play a female Twilek on Radiant and she gets treated SO much differently. Free stuff, money, loot, you name it. She doesnt ask, she dances and I RP her as the "babe in the woods". Is it evil? Maybe. But I play Jorus as the seen and done everything guy. Jaded, and searching for answers. So its a nice contrast. I agree with Ekade though. Playing a dominating male isnt impossible if its done right. Its funny though because when Jorus ran into Ekade way back when, he was looking for how to join the Alliance. When he saw her again in Lost City, he was wearing Stormtrooper armor... was a good scene. Certainly shook his resolve for serving the Empire.

Keer: Yeah the good ole days. When Anchorhead really was a remote settlement and not a HUGE city like its become with all the stuff around it. Ppl were all over too. Like you said, in Eisley and whatnot. It was all so new. I remember finding a rock I could target. I shot it once and died soon after. Damn mynocks killed me.

All this nostalgia is the reason why I have to thank those two.

They actually turned the ugly experience into a RP experience with a little imagination. Suddenly, it turned into a common bar fight that I could see happening in the Mos Eisley cantina.

It's also making me want to get on and get my RP game on but I should be working.

I also remember launch well. It took forever to get on the game, especially on a 31.2K conenction (I lived out in BFE at the time) just the newness of it all. The first time I saw Han Solo, Luke, Vader and everyone else was just so...wow...especially when I knew that I was one of the first people to see these characters in the game.

Lets see i definetley didnt come into this game thinking i was going to roleplay. I was 1337 H4X0r from counter strike trying out his first mmo.
So one day after i got done pvping with my master pistoleer /tka student, i bump into Dariis. He starts helping me grind out melee and i notice hes acting a bit strange. After a while i figure out that hes rping and so is Mafiro and the others in the guild he was in. So i join his Guild and start roleplaying a tka student of Dariis and Mafiro (2 best rpers ive ever met when they actually log in game ) . I spend a good 5 or 6 months rping that until i get burned out on the game and quit rping first and then quit all together. When i come back I meet Iago who i still blame for ego monster DuoX that broke every heart in the cnet cantina. Then Asoga came along no I walk the line and i guess whipped would be the word lol :P.

I refer to that time as the "Golden Age" of SWG. Everything was new and people were having a blast.

Mos Eisley cantina was THE scene. Adventurers would gather there while forming their hunting groups. They would banter with eachother, and with the entertainers. The "wild" was a scary place, not to be travelled lightly.

Keer was the first roleplayer I met that actually seemed "twilek". At that time I knew nothing about my race. My interactions with him inspired me to do some research and flesh out my character from a twilek point of view. Yes, I think Lando Calrissian was an apprentice to Master Tregga when it came to "smooth".

Entertaining in the cantina was a blast. It was almost like having Roba, S&V, and Casino night every night. There were always so many new faces coming through. It was just way too much fun.

Then came player cities and everyone decided they needed to have their own city. All the great cantinas from the Golden Age, Eisley, Ancorhead, Moenia, and others cried out and were suddenly silenced. Then came holocrons and the AFK entertainer invasion.
