ok, I'll throw in my 2 creds
with the current system as it is, BF is the only reason to go to an entertainer
the 10% xp bonus is nice, but if I don't get it, no biggie
if they are tryin to be more like WoW, then it's going to be removed...well then what? entertainers are pretty much purposeless, except for rp or just for fun
so what should happen is it should become something similar to politician...no skill points necessary, or maybe just points used for the novice entertainer boxes (ent/dancer/music)
that way they could get some defense/offense, yet still be able to entertain when needed
I would love to see a cantina/club where everyone was dancin...not just one group and the rest clapping
EDIT:
same should be for ID's..hell you can't find those people anymore...but if it cost almost nothing, you could
BF may be removed
( sorry if i'm a bit late on this post, just noticed it)
I'm an id it doesn't make me money like it used to and has almost no point, but i love what i do and would never give it up.
as for bf being taken away, yea it makes the professions involved with healing pointless to other players, but i am interested in what we will get in exchange especially since i can't recall the last time someone said, " man i really need to get rid of my bf, how much for yout trouble" but ehh thats just my point of view.

You know I say do not touch a thing except get rid of item decay via death because you have to be draging my body over sharp rocks and other bad things and then burned me. Otherwise items are decayed from combat not being drag across the country side.

Here's an idea if you want to be more like wow... Give us multiple characters on the same server! then people could try different things and enjoy the same friends. I mean if you want to dance tonight log the dancer on, if you want to be billy baddass log on (insert random template here) killer person. I suppose that is too easy though.

Battle fatigue fellas...battle fatigue. There are multiple wish lists elsewhere in the forums. Find em.
Thanks!
I heard a rumor about some patch notes going up on TC early this morning that talked about the removal of bf, but they were taken down promptly after having been posted? Confirmations or rejections?

The missing post.
Now, I have to point out, it was removed. So can you really expect to see it?

Profession: Entertainer
New Dance
Bunduki (an interpretive dance from the planet on which the Teras Kasi fighting style originated)
New Song
Swing
Add new particles to old healing branch
New dance particles:
Center Stage
Color Swirl
Dance Floor
New music particles:
Featured Solo
Laser Show
Fire Jet 2
Fixed exotic flourishes so they now function properly
Battle Fatigue is no longer acquired and entertainers can no longer heal it.
Entertainer's and elite professions' skill branches have been reworked to accommodate these changes.
Add props to old healing branch
Dance props
Staff
Sword
Sparkler
Glowstick
Torch
Ribbon
Double Ribbon
Mystical Ribbon
Double Mystical Ribbon
Sparkle Ribbon
Double Sparkle Ribbon
Also, at novice dancer or higher, dancers can duel wield props.
Profession: Image Designer
Image Designers will no longer see other players avatars in the user interface as swimming
Profession: Bounty Hunter
NPC Bounty missions will now work properly. The Mark will now be of appropriate difficulty based on the difficulty of the mission
Moved Player Bounty Hunting to the Master Bounty Hunter skill Box
Bounty Hunter Jedi missions (1) no longer list Jedi names and (2) prevent you from determining Jedi's level via mission payout
Profession: Scout
Phecnacine Dart will no longer cause creatures AI to turn off
Profession: Pilots
Pilots that drop a pilot profession will no longer lose an extra 10% experience if they have an inspiration buff.
Profession: Jedi
FS Village, Phase 4:
Increased the frequency of the Sith Shadow Pirates spawn to make the Village Assault (Ranged Speed / Melee Defense) quest is now easier to complete
Players that are using force cloaked will no longer be targetable
Jedi heals will no longer cost Force and Mind if the target does not require healing
Armor / Weapons
Fixed an Issue with the Mabari Gloves
UI
Removed the version number from the splash screen. If you would like to retrieve the version number, press CTRL+SHIFT+G in game.
Master Badges will now be granted during the token respec period
Fixed the range indicator so it packs down when HAM bars are invisible.
GCW
Reduce TEF timer to 2.5 minutes.
Combat between a bounty hunter and a Jedi for which the bounty hunter has a bounty mission will result in a "bounty hunter TEF". No other TEF (such as factional TEF, for example) is applied. The "bounty hunter TEF" will prevent both the bounty hunter and Jedi from entering player structures, and will eject the player from a player structure if the TEF is received while the player is in the player structure.
Guild war pvp no longer results in a TEF, unless the combatants are a bounty hunter and a Jedi for which the bounty hunter has a bounty mission, in which case it will result in a "bounty hunter TEF".
Opposing factional TEF and "bounty hunter TEF" are applied to both combatants as soon as any of the combatants attacks.
Quests / Loot
Mellichae now drops his cyborg arm as loot.
Mellichae and Daktar Bloodmoon now drop more appropriate loot.
NPC Jedi can now drop medpacks, clothing, and pistols as loot.
AI
Fixed an error case where AI would emit a "?" over its head when a non-threat approached.
Pets: If a pet attacks a mob, the mob will now also be aggressive to the pet's master. So if you send a pet on a mob, and the pet dies, the mob will attack you. If you send your pet to attack a lair, mobs from the lair will additionally attack you.
Pets: Pets now inherit the same aggro radius reduction as their master. Previously a lvl 80 player with a lvl 40 pet could possibly have an AI aggro the pet, but not the player. Now the pet has the same aggro radius as the player.
Pets: A pet can no longer pull a mob without getting within the aggro radius of or attacking a mob. Previously just telling a pet to attack a mob initiated the pet and the mob in combat instantly.
Pets: A pet no longer stops attacking a lair (or any immobile AI) after a short period of time. They will continue to attack as ordered.
Pets: Fixed a case where pets could lose their ranged weapons when incapped and not regain the weapon until stored/recalled.

So what you see... *shrugs* who knows. But duel wield props for dancers???!!! Maybe a test to see how it will work for combat?I'm sorry but there are a number of items in that list that seem "off". Not just our's but some of the items for the other professions too. Let's hold off on getting our hopes up until a list is posted on In Testing and not removed. But I'm hoping for the best and yes..our stuff *could* go to TC as soon as this week.

It also says that the profession's and elite profession's 'skill boxes' will be fixed to reflect the changes. There is 'deffinately' something going on with it... their just not saying yet. I think that's important to point out.

Yeah, I love having multiple characters on my WoW sever.. and NOT having to pay extra for it.
Just imagine what this would mean for Roleplayers. I mean.. we could ALL have imperial alts and really make GCW related stories come alive. I could go on and on.

Do you know WHY Star Wars Galaxies only allows one character per server? Because if you could have multiple characters (how many does WoW let you? 3? 8? Whatever, 3 for example) then you could have your main character who is the uber beefy combat class. MBH/MCarbs/Stopping shot FOTM lets say. So then you have your second character, now remember they can all be admined to the same houses and such, so transfering items isn't an issue at all. (I am assuming that WoW has a shared bank a la EQ, so there's no issue there either.) But then on your other two characters one is a WS/AS and the other is a Chef/BioEngineer. That also means you have 30 lots straight away, So that's something like 20+ harvesters going non-stop without having to do any cross server trading or anything of the like. So you have your constant flow of Weapons, Armor, Food and Stims... Why would you ever go to other players? You can solo krayts by yourself, you're just a god. And that's all right out of the box.
SWG also doesn't restrict a character to one class (except Jedi, but that's why they get a second character slot) so you can switch from the 250 Entertainer to the FOTM Carb/BH or over to Chef/BioE... You're not locked down to Paladin/Miner/Engineer or however it works in WoW. SWG is unique in that you NEED other people, not just for forming groups and raids but for a living and thriving economy.
Oh, and back on topic, does anyone even get BF anymore anyway? I haven't got more than 10 points outside of death I don't think... And does it even do anything?

I have a good number of reward weapons in SWG but the best weapon I have is a player made Gorax FWG5. SWG is a player based ecomony with most of the things for sale made by the players.
In WoW, Most of the things you see in the Auction Houses are looted items. WoW is a loot based ecomony. It dosn't matter how many alts you create because the best items are loot items.
Steers back to BF.
No I really havent gained alot. Only when I clone and die in JTL.

heh i'm intrested in that big list of ent stuff, when it goes up on tc i'll have to test things out. I was talking to a friend the other day about if they take out bf then instead of needing healing xp there would be something else, like perhaps crafting lines, since we will be making things.
i really wouldn't be too torn up about losing bf tho. I dropped muscian and now that i'm picking it back up i'm finding its impossible to get good healing xp anymore.

The concern that entertainers have is that the NEED for them is being systematically removed. We already give up a lot in terms of combat and content opportunities to be entertainers.Curse wrote: SWG also doesn't restrict a character to one class (except Jedi, but that's why they get a second character slot) so you can switch from the 250 Entertainer to the FOTM Carb/BH or over to Chef/BioE... The Past:
- Mind wounds
- Battle fatigue
- Mind buff
The future:
- 10% inspiration buff (which is just as good if given by a novice as it is if given by a Master)
Basically there is not much of a reason to see an entertainer, and no real reason to see a GOOD one.
I like the idea of people needing eachother, I like it a lot. That's why the entertainer nerfs are upsetting.
I've often said that they need to give us some good buffs that require Master level. You don't want to buy a weapon from a non-master weaponsmith, do you? I'd also like to see an extremely good short-duration buff. This would give a party incentive to take an entertainer along on hunting trips. (I know that last one is far-fetched.. but hey, I can dream can't I?)

I completely agree, I loved having musician back when I was a beastly wookiee scout. Everybody else loved it too! I dropped a camp and we all clustered in and they listened to me and we healed up.
They need to make entertainers worthwhile to have in groups (though the 8 person thing screws with this) and make scouts/rangers worthwhile to have in groups.
Really, I see no best solution for this. Though by giving entertainers a number of buffs that go up to lets say an hour in duration that would make them more in demand and more frequently visited. Though scouts are a completely different thing for a completely different discussion.
Either way, DID YOU GUYS SEE THE NO VISIBILITY IN GROUPS CHANGE?! OH MY GOD MEESA BUSTING WITH JOY.
