There are times where I wish Dancer was "free" skill point wise. At the same time, I know this would make the profession so diluted that there would absolutely no respect for it. ((Think back to the hologrind era where every powergamer crammed into Theed and Coronet wearing their hawtpants, chef-hats, crafter aprons, and boots.))

I don't want to see dancer as a garbage profession. It is core to my character concept and it would kind of suck if everyone in the galaxy could do it.

I'd like to see 2 things:
- Reduce the cost of every box in the Entertainer/Dancer/Musician trees by 1 like they did to ID.
- Give us some useful buffs. Ideally even buffs that make it beneficial to have a Master level Dancer/Musician in your combat group.

These 2 things will give us a reasonable cost/benedit balance when it comes to skill points. The way it stands now is not very balanced at all.

I can picture the dancer as a sort of healer/bard roll for combat. We see only a little bit of this presented in the almost pointless defense bonus you get at master.

An ideal thing to do would be an... aura buff you get for standing near your Dancer in combat. Don't think of this as a Bard singing in a fantasy setting moreso than... this is the inspiration this particular iconic figure gives off during combat. You 'want' to protect this person and, thus, get a defense bonus for the group by having a master dancer with you. I am 'not' saying anything should be taken away from Squad Leader here... only something added for Dancer/Musicians to reflect in combat.

I'd also like to see skill points reduced for the profession enough for an entertainer to take up some serious combat... if they want to... and keep their profession while at the same time not making it a crap profession everyone grinds out on their character because it's free and would make you a self-suffient xp grinder.

There are a lot of other things I'd like to see done... more diverse buffs to affect combat, crafting, even buffs that dancers can direct toward other dancers!

Maybe even throw in a few oddities like special dances, songs, and more flourishes that can only be performed if your in a group; this would be in addition to everything already in game. They don't need to change what we have... I'm talking adding more!

I'm for keeping the point requirements for the entertainer classes, but maybe scale it down a bit the way they've done with the Image Designers, or maybe split the combat/noncombat classes into skill point pools with the main being approx 250, and the secondary at 150 or so. (This was discussed on the SWG Dancer Forum a bit.) Either way, keep the points.

What I'd really like to see is less of a gap between the combat classes and entertainer classes. Not quite sure how that would work out with the musicians, but there are a few martial arts styles in real life that look like the practitioner is dancing. Maybe make more of a link between Dancer and the tankers. If I can weild two prop swords, I can probably do a little bit with a real one, after all. A few of the dance effects could be twisted for combat (dazzle, smoke, etc...) I know this is a pipe dream, but hey, the Devs have done crazier things.
