Well hold on. Wayy back in the '70's after Star Wars premiered it was reported that Imperial Stormtroopers were indeed clones.
Since that time though all mention of that has been hushed up...outside of fans with long memories

Also consider that I've read that in the DVD release of the original trilogy, that all ST voices will be replaced with Jango Fett's, and that they're going to "even out" the heights of them in group shots so that they all look to be exactly the same size (if they didn't do that already in the original casting and subsequent re-releases).

I agree, and that's how it was told in numerous books (the Thrawn series, for instance, which said that the cloning technology was lost somewhere after the Clone Wars). But the fact remains that Lucas claims only the movies are Canon, and he's re-writing them like crazy.
I'm sure he had no idea that Boba or the Troops were clones when he wrote the first three, because this is a man who can't think ten feet ahead of himself.

While I give Lucas all the credit in the world for creating something infinately captivating... I won't let him destroy it either. He can re-write all he wants, but I am not going to let then change my vision of what Star Wars truly is.
To me, Star Wars is as depicted in Episodes IV and V.. and about half of VI. Everything that has come out of him since them is very close to TOTAL CRAP.

I agree with Ekade. I don't even bother to acknowledge the prequeas in anything. Only prequals that I'll concur with is the ones in the EU, and that's because at least they make sense.
As for Fett's death, yea, it sucked for him, but I ain't complaining. Even the might Fett can be taken down. He let his guard down for a moment, and look where it landed him? No one's infallable.

Dont mean to necro this, but I thought I would shed some light on why Lucas killed Boba the way he did.
Lucas was...and still is in my opinion a little bitch when it comes to his fan base. See, the problem was that Boba actually had more of a fan base and more people wanted to know more and see more of him then they did the main characters. I saw this in an internet article some years back while I was manning the desk on duty during my Navy years.
His idea to take the fans away from Fett was to punk him out...and the more I kept reading, the more it all made sence. Anyhow, his idea was to kill Fett in such a way as to make him look more amature then he made him out to be in ESB so that fans would lose interest and migrate to the more central characters.
Yes, and the prequils are like me hitting myself in the groin with a Louisville slugger repeatadly.
gee didn't see that coming

novall is a boba fan /gasp
lol no offense but you can just "tell" you know
dude, seriously, you think it was a CONSPIRACY to bring him down? lol
you realize fans do this all the time to minor characters, and later they are re-written to give them the depth to match the fan base.
Gambit in the x-men...he was a bit character, but quite frankly, and i know this sounds insulting but i don't mean it to be....the type of people who like comics and SW in general are the guys who drool over boba's and gambits. The tough, lone wolf loner who is insanely mysterious. Boba has the mandalorian armor, which by the way sucks other than its rare, and gambit has his uber cool trenchcoat. I mean, sorry i hate boba over the fact that he's made out to be sucha badass...he was TURNED INTO a bad ass to compensate fans drooling, the drooling didn't come from him being sucha badass, sorry.
seriously like i said "CONSPIRACY' to embarassingly off fett, that's a bit much man

Just passing on a tidbit I got from a website once that made sence to me. I like slave 1 more then fett, because thats the bastage of starships in the galaxy. Has nothing really do do with the characer. He's wearin a half beat up set of old armor. If stormtrooper armor cant help them...well nough said.
I think you hate to much man, you should try a lil more love in your life. Love is nice. More love...less hate.
Then again...we can always get Pex to activate fett and you and he can take a romp around Theed. 8-)

Boba does deserve some credit.. based on the movies alone. He had a degree of respect from both Darth Vader and Jabba the Hutt. He kept Luke Skywaler pinned down with his carbine. Also, we was fearless in attacking Luke in episode VI. This would indicate a large degreee of competency and confidence in his abilities (aka "badassness").
This does point to some depth and coolness and justifies a bit of fandom.
I don't read the comic books or the novels, aside from Zahn's Heir to the Empire series. So anything you cite from those is lost on me.

Novall, take Zo under your wing and show him what love is all about. He needs a love mentor, like yourself.

He's written so well is so many stories (and equally written poorly in others) that he remains my favorite character. Not my favorite "movie" character mind you, just SW character overall. There is quite a few Boba stories out there that you may like if you've never read them before.
Anyone else want to form a club who willfully deny the "origin" of Boba Fett and the Stormtroopers from Episode II? I'm sorry but I hate the explination, I hate the demystifying of Fett and I hate when a storyteller explains to much.

Once again.. Episodes I and II do not exist. Trust me, the world is a better place without them.
Totally agree.. demystification is a bad bad thing. The worst is what he did to the force with that midichlorian Bolshit.

Thats on my list too. What does Lucas have against a little magic? As kids loved Boba Fett because he was mysterious, we loved Jedi because they were like superheroes with magic powers, we loved the fact that Han shot first and Greedo didn't shoot at all, and we loved the movies as they were.
As adults we loved all those things because they found a place in our hearts. That feeling of nostagila that made you watch the movies over and over again.
Then Mr. Lucas took a steamroller and crushed them for us cause of a spoiled brat complex. You know what I mean, the kind that makes him say "My movies! Mine! Mine! You can't play with them but I'll let you look at them!" and then takes a screwdriver to 'em.
Sorry, I'm starting another Lucas rant. I'll shut up now.
