Did I mention that it is going to be Crap?
LMAO! Funny for two reasons. First, your prose is perfect for the topic.
Second, one of the funniest scenes in Batman is the Joker looking through Vicki Vale's portfolio. "Crap, crap, crap, crap." LOL I love it.

And yes, Star Wars has taken a bad turn, but it still qualifies as a cash cow.

But, Star Trek? After that last crap they won't even waste paper on tickets. You'll bring your own food and drinks, pay the usher a "cover charge" and get your hand stamped like a night club! LOL!

Why is it that I seem to fall for almost every genre series with the word "Star" in it?

As a hardcore Trekkie(I have all 7 DS9 DVD sets--which will soon be hocked..lol), I have to say that Kirk's involvement in Enterprise series is retarded. Kirk's untimely and poorly written death in "Generations" was abhorent enough. Please don't make us watch him waddle onto the deck of Enterprise! Think of all the things Kirk stands for..he was a chick magnet back in TOS. It's a shame to bring him back. The next thing you know they will be bringing the Borg in.. oh the ratings have dropped..how do we hook the viewers? Bring in the traditional large breasted female or bring in the Borg(or in the case of Voyager--Both. That's not a bad thing..mmm Teri Ryan).

What Trek needs is a total revitalization of the franchise...and no creating a new rock/pop ballad theme song does not count..

Nope, you can still get a pass liking Star Wars because it was such a cultural phenomenon. Star Trek is pure nerdsville :P

Star Wars was a phenomenon in the late 70's early 80's for the mainstream. People who are still fans are auto-classified as geeks. Especially those who play MMORPGs. :)

Truth be told, everyone is a geek about something. Some people are way into shopping, shoes, tupperware, or whatever. This too is geekdom, just in a different form. If you observe their behavior.. it is identical to that of a "classic" geek. It is just focused on different things. :D
