Don't go knocking Alonzo.

Alonzo put Duox in his place and he has a full right to do so. Duox being full template in less than a month is a prime example of what was wrong with the game. HS/College kids who have summers off will always pwn the rest of us guys that can't keep up, which is the very reason I started this thread with "Unfortunately I no longer live with my mom...".

I started grinding Jedi last september the day pub 10 came out, ironically, Duox quit because he was sick of the Jedi in the game (don't worry DD I won't link to that thread again). I have been grinding since then. And since then he has been able to come back, finish the village and become full template Jedi cause he played 18 hours a day during the post CU. He is far from the only one to go and do this.

This is not something to be proud of.

I didn't abuse the system, however those who did got ahead. Those who didn't are paying the price of being "noobs" to all the Duox's playing SWG.

Don't knock someone for telling the truth.

DD is saying he agree's that it should be harder for all other Jedi. He compelted his template and thinks it should be fair for everyone else to work harder yet used an exploit at least once by his own statement to further his grind. And has said he has or had 18 hours a day to spend on the grind.

I think Alonzo has every right to make sure that we understand where DD is coming from. It's like people saying sure stop allowing new Jedi, but they've already got one. It's like a double standard.

Xp nerfs hurt everyone. I thought that was the real point here? We're waisting our time attacking each other. And the fact is... we're all justified from our own points of view; because their the only ones we have. *sigh* I'm just going to hope the game gets fixed in a timely mannor... if not... guess we've got more waiting to do.

Honestly, the grind in SWG is the worst.. and always has been. If you have any doubt, start a new character on another server. By the time you get to your 2nd tier of novice you will have given up.

The rewards are few and far-between, and there is little in the way of fun and variety when it comes to leveling up.

The fact that they change the rules on Jedi as much as they do is total BS.

Getting Jedi has involved (I may be missing a few steps):
- 4 holo's + 1 silent (then this was stealth-nerfed to.. )
- 4 holo's + 4 silents
- Jedi-revamp & village
- Now add in a hefty XP nerf.

What is frustrating is that they keep changing the rules and pushing it farther and farther our of reach of the casual gamer.

So, what motivation does the casual gamer have for continued play? What is the end-game that they should be striving for? What reasonably acheivable goals exist for them?

Jedi? I think not.

Looking at Alonzo's foruma... I would say that a casual gamer has, at most, about 2 hours a night to grind. So that would put the "Full template" number at over 200 days.

200 days of grinding? Hell no. If you want a Jedi that bad, you are better off ebaying it. Besides.. somewhere around day 100 they will change the rules on you again.

I'm not jealous, because I don't want what you have. I'd like to be respected by my peers once I am full template and that is one thing you will never have. Unfortunately for you, you poked your head in the wrong thread. This thread is about XP nerfing and why it had to happen but at the same time why it doubly screws over people who haven't exploited every opportunity that has come around. In a round about way the problem with the game is people like you who play FOTM like you did it before Jedi and you're doing it now.

Don't act like higher level gamers have never pissed you off.

Everyone is freaking out so bad about this it cant stay this way. No one likes this patch so obviously itll be changed at some point. They cant keep xp this anemic without adding a crap load of content which they arent to good at lol. So im sure in a couple weeks xp will go back to the way it was before.

DuoX...you don't have a leg to stand on in this conversation. As it has been pointed out numerous times, your jedi grind was an entirely different beast than the one that this thread is detailing. Not to say you don't get to have an opinion, but don't cry foul when somebody tells you you're full of shit.

Everybody else...He is allowed an opinion and a chance to voice it like everyone else. Whether or not you believe him or give it any credence is up to you. However, no need to resort to personal attacks or insults in an attempt to discredit him. Stick to the facts.

This is probably a waste of time, as I will most likely be locking this thread in...oh, about 10 minutes. But I like to give warnings first.

I guess before ya lock it, Krusshyk, I'd just like to point out that up until this patch... minus one too many dbl xp days I saw a bunch of us take as much advantage of as we could... the game has been bareable and I dare say fun. Save for those of us that don't like grinding the repetitive missions in the first place.

Is there more to the game than xp for us to do? Yes. Is xp the only way for us to get there do to CL requirements to even do some of these quests without being bored because another high CL character is essentially walking you through the quest since you can't level appropriately now... See where I'm going with this? The game was great for the casual gamer finally... and they mess with that in a most foul way.

Attacking each other here is not a solution... just adds to the already large problem of getting along with each other in the community that we already have. We don't need help agging that on from any sides.

The issue is how this xp nerf affects 'everyone'... not if you got a friggin Jedi in x ammount of time. Fact is most of us are Casual gamers here and most of us have real lives... we don't need a second job playing a damn game. And 'that' is why this needs fixed.

I've been playing since launch. I've watched my pistoleer skills go from the top of the food chain to nothing. I've watched bounty hunter specials be turned into nothing. Ive seen my 20 million dollar pike turned into something worth destryoing when the cu hit. Im used to nerfs. I grinded my ass off because i expect this kind of stuff out of soe. They continually screw us over over and over. I do have a leg to stand on. My template is broken and itd take 6 million xp to get that. And with the bh system the way it is id have to give up pvp completely to grind it because i get dbd by bhs in pvp on a regular basis. Im not saying its not wrong and im not saying it shouldnt be changed. But xp was coming to fast and everyone knows it. They did overly nerf it a cut in half would have been more appropriate. But your sitting her telling me i should feel bad for grinding day and night for weeks knowing at any moment a stupid nerf like this could come along. Im sorry i predict this kinda stuff so i work hard and fast to avoid it. But your not gonna sit here and mamke me feel bad for having a full template jedi. Jedi isnt for the casual gamer thats the key thing in this whole conversation. Thats why its so damn hard to get and thats why the grind should have been harder than it was for me. You can tell me im wrong if you want but damn its not like jedi is the end all be all anyways. I will get my ass kicked by most melee/healer templates and melee/healer templates are also much better than me in pve. You dont have to be a jedi and im sorry if you thought it was something you could do in your spare time but it was never meant to be that way.

Maybe it's just me, but I think that SOE just put the nail in the coffin for SWG. Especially with the 3000+ complaints under the Publish 22 Discussion thread on the official forums. Let's pray they do something soon, or there is going to be a huge population decrease on all of the servers because of everyone cancelling their accounts.

Note: If you want a good soloing template, get Teras Kasi Master, at least Swordsman 4033, and Combat Medic 4000.

This could definetley cut the population a whole lot bunch of my guild mates are considering quitting. Not that theres anything to do even if the xps good lol. They need to do less nerfs and more content

I'm sorry but there is a bunch of contradictions in your post, and in the accumulation of your posts in this thread. You think the grind should have been harder for you yet instead of doing it respectably you go and exploit a game feature to make it even easier. Had everyone done the grinding legit then SOE more then likely would not have felt the need to act so severely and cut XP as they have. So in regards to this discussion I agree with Krush you really don't have a leg to stand on. Is it fair that people like you have now made it impossible for the average person? No, and that's all we're saying.

Now I'm not talking about double XP that's SOE's fault and they can only blame themselves. But people who exploit the Warren, Ryatt Trail, etc. Those are the things and those are the people that have brought this nerf upon us. So the fact that you come in here and tell us that because we can't spend 18 hours a day playing a game we don't deserve the chance to be a Jedi? That's completely hypocritical. Casual gamers pay the same monthly fee that you pay to play this game, that entitles us to have the same opportunity IG which includes the opportunity to be Jedi.

And some of us want to be a Jedi not to be the "be all end all" but in case you've forgotten this is an RPG, or Role Playing Game. And for some of us that grew up and saw Star Wars in the theatre when it was released we've dreamed of Jedi. Now a game has finally given us a small glimpse at what it would be like to have be a part of the greatest story we've ever seen/read about. And it's that immersion and that small glimpse at a dream come true that has caused us to follow this path.

Now SOE can't dictate how much time any player has IG, but it's their job to make sure that any player is able to have the same opportunities regardless, and gearing this game up to favor those that may play 18 hours a day for 5 months and quit is not in their best interests and I hope they realize that.

Are you saying a complete, albeit broken, template is tantamount to starting from no template at all? I will have to respectfully disagree.
