Amelie Soundtrack. Go accordians!!! It's infinitely inspiring to me, with the myriad of unique layered sounds in each track. It's also pretty distinctly "French" sounding and reminds me of the movie...which is one of my favorite movies and inspiring for other reasons....so lotsa reasons. But I find it a marvel of sound every time I listen to it.

Amelie is one of my all time favorite movies. At the time it came out, I was a film projectionist at an arthouse cinema and I watched it at least 7 times. Such an amazing movie.
I occasionally play bits and pieces of the soundtrack on my radio show on Friday nights.
I also recommend Delicatessen and City of Lost Children, also directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet, if you haven't yet already seen them.

Actually - I always wanted her to open the box at the end of the movie and drop out the activated satellite phone that she was sending her rat husband at his request.
But to the question: I'd go with classic music, either Motzart or Beethoven - the mathmatecal complexity would stay interesting for a long time.
hmm

Probabaly the Silk Road album by Yo Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. It has the advantage of covering a range of musical traditions to pick and choose from, as well as music to dance to.
The big question is: Where is the crate of batteries? Need that self life of 6 years or I wouldn't have time to get irritated by the music.

The Bladerunner soundtrack.
While I love it, I'm pretty sure it would help me into a deep depression after which I would probably kill myself.
I thought about the Black Album from Metallica, but that would probably just make me kill all other life forms on the island and then I'd end up dying anyway unless I learned how to spearfish. Also considered the Best of U2, but that would just make me angry everytime I still haven't found what I'm looking for came on...I'd be jumping on the CD player screaming "That's because I'm on this &^%#@W@ island!"

Its solar powered. You just can't listen to anything at night.

Yep, noted that it was solar powered. But having had xp with solar powered electronics, anything that uses more power than a mini calculator is suspect, or else warfighter would have a lot of stuff that is solar powered. And nothing in the publicity so far indicates any of that stuff is.
