I understand your perspective completely. As crazy as it might sound now, pre-CU, I was completely a non-PvPer. The few times I tried it, it was over far too fast and I got nothing rewarding out of it, so I pretty much reserved myself to PvE. This is everyone's right to choose as a playstyle, it's your game, your $15, your fun. I think the only thing we were trying to tell you was that you can continue with a completely non-PvP playstyle in the middle of these wars thanks to the maturity and understanding of the community.
The accountability of being instantly attackable by everyone adds a certain responsibility to the way you act (personally, you didn't need it, but it's just nice to have overall). Since there were never any issues before, you are likely not to get into any entanglements now that everyone is red.

Here is my other question.. So like BH's can track people, if I get a findfriend fix on somebody as Jedi can I just say "I sensed them". I was going to do this last night cause I got a fix on Kirt before he removed me from his friends list. But I thought that would be kinda lame.

I took you off my friendlist and gave you static for a reason.
1. I turned my Comlink off after I left Tat witht he girls
2. Two you can Use /findfriend on me if I talk with you in the comlink cause you can track the Frequency.
3. See 1 and 2
You couldnt track me using the force...ask obi wan he needed to talk to people and stuff like that.

It does take some sort of bond to see and sense another person with the force. Father/Son, Brother/Sister, Mentor/Studant, Husband/wife, Lovers...KirtViza wrote:I took you off my friendlist and gave you static for a reason.

There needs to be some emotional bond or close association.

Luke and Vader could sense each other, as did Vader and Obi-Wan, once they were within certain proximity.Jabe Adaks wrote:Here is my other question.. I'd say, if you knew IC some other way they are on Tatooine and you land in Bestine, I'd say it's reasonable for you to "sense" that they were 2k to the North.
Again, not sure if my movie/cannon stuff is accurate, as all of the above had close personal relationships. Perhaps it would be better to leave Jedi stuff out of tracking. Not really sure on this one.

Force sensing works once you have met that person and remembered their tremors in the force. Like a person's smell or voice.
Vader did not know about his son and did not sense him even when he was standing 30 meters away from him at the Death Star when fighting Obi Wan. His vibrations were one of many. While he sensed Obi Wan the moment he arrived, because he remembered the specific tremors in the force. Then, once he got to know who Luke is and after meeting him again in person, they could sense eachother afterwards (at least at some 10km distance - approx length of SSD). Leia could sense Luke is OK as far as Death Star's orbit height, say 500 km away.
======
While we are at it, having a word on tracking people realistically, here is my take on this. I'll try to play it this way for my feel.
#1
Namerange to minimum (10m)
#2
a) All PC/NPC names OFF, except Guild and Group
b) or PC names ON (they will pop up at some 10m range)
#3
Radar on minimum range, since you cannot recognize a person more than 50m away i.e. you cannot know if it is friend or foe
#4
Show object arrows on radar OFF (outside 32m you don't know who is coming - except perhaps Jedi could keep arrows ON since they can sense danger coming from a certain way)
#5
Show arrows towards WPT on screen, OFF (you see them on radar, not that important actually)
#6
BH using tracking droids get WPTs on planetary map as usual
#7
Jedi sensing a known person via /findfriend should keep to using the WPT direction arrow on radar and not planetary map, since you can sense a general direction but not range or even position. (Vader did not know the location of ObiWan on Death Star even if he was in the Falcon near him)
#8
Tracking via radio comms:
- If you are alone, what you get from radio comm is direction at best, and not position - so direction arrow on radar and no planetary map
- If there are at least 2 persons scattered over the planet listening, they can trigonometrically pinpoint the source of radio comms i.e. planetary map waypoint is valid
Makes things complicated but couldn't help myself ...

Yes but the Emperor was able to tell Luke was Vader's son while training on with Yoda on a planet light years away.Isleh wrote:It does take some sort of bond to see and sense another person with the force. I personally see this as being a mix of what's been mentioned above.
If the person the Jedi is looking for then having met or not I don't think would be a factor. On the Death Star Luke had not really used or realized his connection to the Force.
So if both people are connect to the Force then I agree with Toront that if you're on the same planet you can probably get a good tracking fix on them.
Now if you're searching for a non-Jedi then I agree with Isleh unless you are familiar with the person.
Now this could also work like the other /findfriend tracking in that it's not 100% accurate and could work on a timer to reflect this.

What about biosignature degradation?
Once you have a biosignature? Do you have it forever? Both sides can be argued, but what role-plays best?

For playability, I say it degrades. That lends itself to more options and may make a bio signature a valuable commodity.

Some different sources suggest things like a bioscanner (probably technology used in bounty hunting), which is not a portable unit, would lend to the idea that because it's so complex to do such a thing.... a bounty hunter probably does have their work cut out for them if they lose their quarry in chase. Hense the need to acquire a new bio-signature. The question would be what would be a fair way to use it?Ekade wrote:Isleh wrote:What about biosignature degradation?

2 days and you have to have some contact with the player to get a new signature?
