Well I got in for a short bit, equipped a weapon killed a couple stormies got bugged and logged out. Unfortunately I am going to be one of those people that says this: I hated it.

The screen layout is pretty much exactly WoW. Your experience meter is foolishly drawn across the border of the screen and a toolbar with your favorite attack commands is at the bottom. The controls are your WASD config with the mouse set to fire, etc. I guess it doesn't help that I hate those kinds of games, so whatever.

The weapons really only do have TWO - JUST TWO stats: damage and range. MMO for dummies? Yeah - doesn't get dummer than that.

I never figured out where the chat window is/was. Maybe its gone? Dunno. No matter what I hit it was gone.

They didn't revamp the combat system... they turned this game upside down. This is a game for a different crowd. Some of us will fit in to that crowd and some of us won't. I am going to try this again when its not bugged. Right now I really don't believe this game will be for me. I played WoW for a month and hated it for many of the same reasons I already dislike this. Chances are, if you didn't like WoW for any reason - you're going to hate this. SWG = FPS WoW remake.

Funny, I hated WoW for almost everything...the combat moreso than anything else. I thought it was stupid and boring.

However, I really like this combat. Great fun setting up ambushes for patroling droids, hitting them all with a berrage, then gunning them down with my pistol, only to have to reload in the middle of it! So, being who I am, I don't wait to get the new pack in, but throw my pistol aside and finish up with the droids using my hands.

Where does the fun in the new combat system come from? Tactical decisions.

And for all those stuck near the Falcon, I don't know if you guys are seeing it, but where I am every thirty seconds a system messege comes up saying that if you have lag you should relog. Once you get out of the instanced tutorial, there is no lag at all.

I will be playing it more, I'm not going to write it off just yet.

I just looked at the clock...I've been on here a little over two hours. And I am still having fun with it.

What have a spent that time doing? Grinding. I havn't even done many quests, I've just been killing things. Normally, I can't take two hours of grinding. With this, I'm actually having some fun...It's exciting.

Well...I saw the chat box, I think, but it poofed off right as I got in. I just logged off because Han got stuck like a broken record saying "c'mon kid, over here," and now I can't get back in. Not surprising, really.

I will say that it IS really similar to WoW in the screen layout. The first thing I did was go to the options screen and look for another keymap mode like we have available in the live game. None are available, of course, but who knows.

I do like the new clothing choices and I got a neat looking new necklace for starter clothing. I want to get through the laggy, buggy intro and see what it's like. Though, if anything, I'll say that the laggy, buggy introduction people will be getting in this mass rush to TC will turn some people off.

I couldn't find any skill trees or anything though I looked for them. I really just want to see how it works outside of the lag and the buggy intro. Not being able to turn my character to see my own face bugs me, and the third person view being a literal "over the shoulder" view feels awkward to me, but that's all I can say so far really.

To see your skill tree, press "K".

The Chat Window comes in after the Tutorial...also, that is when all the lag leaves...after the tutorial.

The devs have said that camera views will be available. My guess is that since they want to test this new one, they only put this new one in TC, but you get used to it after awhile.

I've even managed to get myself into some random RP mid-combat. Got a group together and killed an Acklay wanna-be.

Currently, they are taking the servers down to put another one up (and hopefully fix that damn tutorial!).

Favorite addition so far: Reloading. Do I want to throw that gun down and go Teras Kasi on this guy, or should I turn tail and run while I reload, then come back with a full clip?

Favorite Weapon: Fists. Closely followed by that pistol you get in the tutorial. Also got a "Commando Rifle", but it fired too slow for my tastes. I havn't gotten an actual melee weapon yet.

Favorite Stratagy: Assualting, as I like to call it. Take a few potshots running in, then drop my gun and finish the enemy off Teras Kasi style (until I get a sword).

I'm currently level 7, 3/4 of the way to 8. At level 10 I get to leave the nub place and enter the real world that we all know and love. So far so good, even if the environments are a little bland (the only dungeon available to grind in is a toned down Geo Cave). I can't wait to get TC-Gorath up so I can start to see what I can and can't do. So far, I'm liking commando, but BH might be worth looking into (I'm not too big on the commando grenades).

As soon as they add another server and I can get onto the bloody falcon I'll enjoy it.

How are you guys getting in at all? The server has been at full everytime I try to get in. Is there any trick to it? Are you repeatedly hitting the server at the server selection screen or are you logging out and restarting the launchpad every time you try to go in?
