I dueled a Jedi on TC5 and we were both level 10 and it was a fair fight and I only won because I was hiting my macro's I think if he were to have used his he would have got to my same strength. I had like 30% more health left. At anyrate PVP is equal. No one is better then the other. It is all about how you use your specials at the right time.
I also like the quest's that give you clothing that gives you a plus to your stats.
BTW, if you can never get on try this as a hint because it ALWAYS works for me.
If the server is full log out 100% and keep retrying. it could take 10 times or only 1. Eventualy you will get in TRUST me.

One thing I like about NGE is that I don't have to worry about getting absurdly rich or hunting endlessly for attachments to be PvP viable. I will be able to play with the best knowing full well that if I lose it was because I didn't have the skills. Isn't that the way it should be?
I truly hope that turns out to be the case. One MMO PvP concept that ALWAYS bothered me was the impact of gear on combat.
Gear comes from farming.
If gear is what wins you a battle, then farming is more important than skill in PvP. That's just wrong.
At the same time I would love to get uber gear. I guess I can't have it both ways.

Eh, I think both are important. You need something to motivate you after you cap your CL, and gear is what usually falls in to do that.
Now gear shouldn't be able to determine the outcome of a battle, but it should certainly help, or turn the tide in an otherwise even battle. Or else why bother playing after CL 90?

That's probably the reason for the biolink & notrade the quest items

Its gonna be like WoW with insane dungeons and rare loot. I am willing to be thats the route they will go with level 90+ gear.
Hopefully we can get groups together of 40+ people like WoW also.

The 40 person raid groups are a blast. I love the end-game encounters in WoW.

I don't like large groups, I'd prefer instances for smaller groups, I was glad when they cut group sizes down to 8 people. If they make instances I hope they're for group's with possible timers so you can completely loot camp the dungeon.

Well, it does sound like they've been thinking about GCW... for well over a year now.
Given what their doing with the game, but keeping the 8 character group size, I wouldn't be surprised if we see some sort of 'Raid' Grouping added for certain sequences or Battlefields once they add them back. It's clear they're looking at WoW for input at this point. Maybe not 100%... but dang close in the 90s I think.

Well to SOE's or LA's defense battlefields were in SWG before WoW. But for some reason were removed.

So, what do our offbeat topics have to do with the ADK to NPK idea?
Well... with gear a mute point now. We're forced to ask ourselves just where is the balance/economy shifting to? Is this more about our groups now? What effect does this have on our battles?
In this case, One little token leaves us asking a bunch more questions with no item decay and clone professions.

Aye'... and I remember wandering onto them lots of times being the only person in them. A little too open ended I think is why they may have failed.
In this case I'll support a WoW effort if they put in some clear staging points/sequences for Rebel/Imperial forces to go to duke it out. I think the Battlefield rosters would be much more bolstered this time around if people knew where to go to get into the battle.

Battlegrounds are a blast. WoW currently has 3 BG's. A 10v10, a 15v15, and a 40v40.
I really really hope they implement these in SWG.
One of the problems with the GCW is the faction imbalance. BG's are a way to solve that. A BG gives you a chance to engage in a battle with even sides.
The other affect BG's will have, assuming they catch on.. they will provide motivation for people to switch faction from the more popular side to the less popular side.
Why? Assume a 3:1 ratio of rebels to imps. All the imps can be in a BG, while 2/3 of the rebels are waiting. As soon as the match is over.. the imps can jump right back in while the rebels will have to wait 2 games.
People will get sick of waiting and want to switch factions.

I think if you die in a faction battle you should lose faction points and rank. So the other side can actually push people back to being out of the GCW so they have to grind their way back in.
Faction loss on PvP was around at one time.
