Anyways, I would probably say that this rumor is crap. Since the NGE came out people have been saying that their friend who works in LA and is a manager at Gamespot says that we will be getting pre-CU servers.

Ya but I heard similar rumor from the Manager of a McDonalds....so it must be true..... he said they were rolling back to prerelease tho.... They said all the stuff they fixed would be mush easier to fix now that they fixed it once already, by publish 28-2 everything should be fixed and the same but different and more exciting.

Lets say that it is from a creditable source, I still say the information is false.

Just based off the TV comercials and the amount of money SOE is spending in the media campaign would indicate to me that the NGE is here to stay.

But all you really have to do is ask is "Where is the Money?"

NGE is targeting the WoW players so going back would mean targeting a smaller market share. The CU players.

I'm willing to bet it's the reason why SOE took such a big risk and dumped the NGE on it's current playerbase because they are going after Blizzard and their players and if SOE can't beat Blizzard with the Star Wars title, then they won't ever beat them.

So "Better that WoW and just as popular" is a goal I can live with because if SOE wants the WoW market, that's exactly what they have to accomplish.

SOE wants the WoW market. What gaming company wouldn't? SOE is big enough and has the resources to go after it and I really don't think Sony would say "That market is way to big for us to go after".

So, If you were SOE looking over your gaming lineup and had to ask "What title do we have, or that we can get, that has a chance of capturing that market?", the answer I think would be "We have Star Wars".

See, this is why no one should believe or start the rumor. It's not designed to make us feel happy in our pants. Just makes us miss things more.

Seriously though, rumor is just that. A friend of a friend my butt. It's gotta be posted on the boards for us to even halfway consider it as true. Even at that. We can't listen to the 'development' stuff as much as we can the concrete 'here's what is going live today' threads. That's the real info for the game.

Hmm, allthough I only heard chitchats about the the so called Pre-NGE time, and with bringung up the Idea SOE want to attract a wider ranger of people.
How long has the time been? few months a year (don't know it actually)

Hmm change takes inevitable its time but making such a "Big Slam" on the the game mechanics and play requires either dumb stupidity or the great confidence that the changes will be proffitable for the game (not in money sense as they use their content to get it) so that people will enjoy it much more.(thus attracting more people , e.g. money earned increases, just a little sideeffect offcourse ;P)

And I must say I am surprised how easy i slipped into playing SWG.

What I enjoy most is the approach, "easy to learn, hard to master" (atleast for new players that is), and easily guides me through the main game systems additionly a nice created atmo and boom , I'm caught.

Still though those persistent ranting about how bad it is now and how good it was then are a bit of nuisance as it hampers my enjoyment of the game.

I would say let's be patient and wait what they will do.

I work in the gaming section of a large chain, and I haven't heard any rumors of that sort. ('Course, I don't even know when we are getting the next shipment of 360s) The big topic under discussion now is about the next big console change...PS3.

Seems like people are shitting themselves over the delay of pub 27 and think it validates the rumors. If you wanna know what is probably the situation regarding the month delay announced by Smed himself then here is my guess...

Development has been stopped. SOE did not reach their goals with NGE and the game is either changing hands or going away. Remember the last publish before NGE? It took a while.
