riiiiiiiiiight....shoot for the stars Shahimi!Man Aims for New Snake-Kissing Record
Thu Jan 12, 7:20 AM ET
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - A kiss is just a kiss, but it may prove to be the kiss of death for a Malaysian snake charmer who will attempt to set a new world record by planting 50 smooches on a venomous snake in 10 minutes.
Shahimi Abdul Hamid, 33, will perform the dangerous feat on March 11 in a bid to break the current record held by an American man who kissed a poisonous snake 30 times in an unspecified time, the national news agency Bernama said Thursday.
Shahini has urged Malaysians to support him in his endeavor, saying he "wants to prove that Asians can also be champions in taming poisonous snakes."

Hey man, if I could be good at only a million things, snake kissing would at LEAST be in the first 400,000. EASY. It would come right after "being able to text message really fast."Skorixor wrote:http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060112/ap_ ... ke_kissing

So like, can someone explain how human stampedes work? I mean if people are getting crushed to death in a line you would think people would um, stop?

I've been in a very mini one, in college (up front, being trampled). The problem isn't with the people being crushed, or the people "doing" the crushing. The problem is ALWAYS with the people in the back who feel left out and are doing all of the pushing/rushing trying to get to the front.Jabe Adaks wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/meast/01/ ... index.html

That pushing from behind compresses the pack and forces everyone in the middle to move faster than they should, and then the people up front get trampled because they're either moving too slowly (for the people behind them) or are stuck against a fence, railing, rough terrain, etc.
Same problem with stadium railings collapsing at European soccer matches. The people in back are intentionally rushing/pushing the crowd. Creates a tidal wave of people that crashes into the front.

I'm still wondering why they'd combine jellyfish DNA with pig DNA. I mean, what if they wound up with pig hair that stung you?
