So.. the question of what to do with old space loot..

It sounds like the answer is delete it or sell it if you can. Currently my ship consists of 100% looted components. I cannot wait to see what the craftable stuff looks like. :D

Nah, sell it on the bazaar. I know some folks cleaning up selling it for 6K a pop. Keep in mind all space loot might not be so bad. You really have to just compare it to your current parts.

Yeah, I've been making a killing selling my loot parts. And my loot has been better than anything I've seen crafted. You have to fight tougher things to get the better loot, and, o'course, have a bit of luck.

Don't get your hopes up. As a 3222 (stupid mission gating me from being 3322) pilot, a good amount of stuff in my ship is looted. The Mark 3 and 4 stuff I've seen sucks as far as mass goes, and the other stats are barely better if at all. Right now I have an engine i'm using that does around 65 top speed, but it only has a mass of approx 1600. Sure, I could use my Mark 4 engine and be taking up 10x the mass. The same thing goes with weapons and what not.

If you're a pilot who can actually avoid taking a beating in space (and rebels be happy you don't have to fight any B-Wings), then use looted stuff. It'll have far less hitpoints, but you'll save a ton on mass. I think it's a more than fair tradeoff.

Yes, I would agree.

Shields and guns are the only good crafted components I have seen. For other components, the looted ones I found have been superior to the crafted ones.
