I will show up on Argent Dawn soon and based on my character on Agrammar I will most likely be exactly the same character. I can't imagine liking anything more than my purple-mohawked, caribbean accent-having, backstabbing, knive throwing, dual-wielding, pickpocketing, stealth-sneaking, capoeira-dancing Rogue Troll.

You coulda been at least a little creative and made something a LITTLE bit different than RL.

I can say I will not be leaving SWG anytime soon...SWG is way more immersive than WoW for me...Then again, I prefer the Sci-Fi theme more. WoW is very well done, and I like playing it.

My curiosity towards WoW ebbs and flows. 2 days ago I could care less. Then I read Keer's RP ditty in this thread and I find it tugging at my imagination again. In my imagination is truly where I derive enjoyment.

However, this also got me thinking about what I enjoy about this game. When you boil it down, I enjoy the community. The game itself becomes less relevant.

My megalomaniacal tendencies had me thinking.. What would happen if we all up and signed onto a WoW RP server and made a really rocking community?

Then the sensible side of me said I have so little time and energy that I would not be able to do both well enough to be satisfied with either. The level of immersion I like to play at requires a good amount of time. That and I have yet to hear that golden endorsement of the game. People say "it is really fun". I have played lots of games that were really fun but I do not play them anymore as none comes close to SWG for me.

Yes, I have been tempted by the dark side. Seret bought WoW so I intend on going and checking it out. But to be honest I don't know if WoW is going to be the game toe lure me from SWG. Perhaps at some point such a game will exist. We will see.

In this MMO life is antagonistic to the natural state, what you call fun. But there is another MMO one where all can start over anew known as WoW. But in order for WoW to grow and prosper this MMO must be cleansed of all RPer's. Convert now or fall forever. Every World of Warcraft player you see standing before you is a convert, everyone of the Legion vast . We all began as something else , I too was once like all of you, Played SWG like all of you but i changed as will you.

The one great unknow about WoW.. will it still be fun in 6-12 months?

Part of me is like.. why hop from game to game? Will that every really bring me the enjoyment I want from my gaming experience?

I've heard that you cannot communicate with your enemies. I think that is a serious design flaw. Anything that divides the community in an MMO is a bad thing (refer to my theory of "Critical Mass").

I am still waiting to hear something about the game that will convince me it has "long haul" potential. So, those of you who are playing, please share your thoughts.

as far as i can tell you cant send pms and such to the opposing faction so horde and alliance are divided but so far that hasnt been a problem for me anyway

I've heard from several people that WoW is a very well thought out game. I even heard that there are plans to add new content every week.

The major problem I have is, Keer is playing on the side of the Hord. If I play on the side of the Allance, will I ever get a chance to interact with him?

Could we do a S&V night on a WoW server with both sides interacting and playing off one another without having to worry about a gank squad from either side coming in and ending the night of RP?

Depending on what server you're on you should be able to interact with everyone. If you're on the PvP server you could still communicate but Horde and Alliance always aggro on each other so you best be careful.

Jabe said the best statement so far. "If only Lucas went with Blizzard." Lately I have been really disenchanted by SOE, not the game mind you I still love that. I just feel like they don't care about adding more content for current players but rather bolstering their product for new recruits. Their last few statements have been cold and leave nothing to be desired.

But Blizzard, which is a company I have ALWAYS had great respect for since they included that extra, toned-down copy of Starcraft with the game so you could give it to friends. I don't care that they take a long time to put out games because they put a lot into them and for me its always worth the wait. With WoW I get the sense that they care about the content and like Keer said you get that sense that game seems finished, not rushed. Even if you massively grind to level 60 you have still only done about 25% of the game. There is a lot to see and do.

As for playing two games yes it is rough and I will not choose between one or the other. I am a hardcore gamer and playing Wow to me is like playing one of my console games. I like vareity and this is a good one. Paying for 2 games and 4 account really sucks though.

So keep an open mind and if you have a friend with WoW go check it out at his/her place. Just don't go leaving SWG or I'll hunt you down and gut you like a fish.

What exactly are you going to hunt us with? A Troll hunter?
