Crazy Roba
They were good on the random destruction, but not enough random death. That, and they never won.

Annnnd speaking of the Crazy Roba...
(Believe me, I have TONS to add-on regarding G.I. Joe, Marvel Universe, et al, but I want to give props to last night's action!).
When Keer first walked into the Roba (late as usual) I thought "Damn, I missed it!" because there were about 10 people inside total. Then, I was reminded by friends Telling me that Concillium City had their Anniversary Party last night ( I would've went too, had I the time before the Roba) and there was a double wedding on Coronet in Maelstrom player city.
So, cool, I thought. I didn't have much more time to spend in-game last night anyway. I'll hang in the Roba and see what I could get Keer into.
The first sight that I saw was encouraging. It was Jorhel and Oeree sitting next to the stage. Keer hadn't met them so I introduced him and agreed to have a drink with them as soon as Keer could "work the room". To my surprise and embarassement, people that I had invited to come were there before me. Embarassed because I told them that the Roba was popular on Fridays and here there were just a handful of people there.
But it was all good. Keer schmoozed, met some new people, and knocked back a couple drinks. He'd just started back toward Jorhel and Oeree when they decided to go outside for a smoke. Keer followed and we talked politics for a while. As my time to logoff came I bid my farewells and of course that's when the story got interesting...
During our conversation of the recent ousting of X'an Shin as Nocturnus' Mayor, Oeree withdrew into himself and wandered off through Dohrian, the town where the Roba is. As I was about to log, something nagged at me to swoop over his last seen direction and see what was up with Oeree. Keer found Oeree laying prone under a bush, coughing up blood, and moaning in pain. Oeree said that he was fine and that he wanted to be left alone. Keer, ignoring that, still tried to convince him to get medical help. I alerted Jorhel and he came to our location. Oeree had run off, in agony. Still coughing up blood and screaming to "stay away".
Keer and Jorhel ended up chasing Jorhel for 10 minutes in the area south of Dohrian. Jorhel, stopped again and drew a blaster, threatening to shoot if we didn't leave. Jorhel had to go (so did I but, I gotta admit, I was hooked by this situation
) and told me to try to help Oeree.
I noticed an NPC Trandoshan of "aggro" status with a Red Con. I decided to use that to try and swing Oeree to safety. "Oeree, there's a Trandoshan behind me within firing range. He's probably just waiting for an opening here to attack. If we fight each other, it'll be that much easier for him to eat the weakened winner!" That seemed to make him think for a moment...to charge the Trandoshan, Blaster blazing away! Keer immediately sent his best "Special Salvo" at the Trando and it went down. And that just pushed Oeree away further. Bewildered that he'd killed the Trandoshan there was no more reasoning to him.
Keer thought that maybe a Jedi could soothe Oeree's mind, and luckily there was one nearby...or so Keer thought. "I need you and your Guardian to come to these coords and help my friend. His life is in danger! Emergency!", Keer shouted into his Comlink (A friend has a Jedi Guardian whenever she goes into public areas, but that's another RP plotline...). "We're not on Talus anymore. We're at the wedding. " came tthe reply. "Argh", Keer thought. "Okay, how soon can you get here?" (trying not to give a "no" option by power of suggestion). A long pause..."I'm at the wedding", was the answer, with a tone of finality. As if that explained it all....Leave it to a Jedi to NOT be available, when you actually want them in your RP session, LaFF!
Damn! I had to meet some people on THIS side of the computer screen and I'd already made myself late. I wanted to help Oeree but my options ran out. And then, to make it more tantalizing, I received Tells from the Roba about other people being sick. One of them a friend that I'd shared a drink with. Another msg came from Ekade about the same thing. I had the feeling that I was in the initial stages of a new Role Play story line with a potentially pivotal part to play, AND I HAD TO GO! Agghhhh!
So I logged off and I've been waiting to get a chance to post this all day until now. For one thing I wanted to give RP props to:
Jorhel: for cool casual RP. And his interactions with his Droid "Artie Deco" (great name considering Jor's profession) were involved.
Oeree: Very good stuff, man! I look forward to RP'ing with him more! Whatever his problem was he kept it mysterious yet still credible.
Ekade: for having the presence of mind to scoot back inside when it started to rain. Considering her "Nature Girl" fashion look that night, it was entirely within character. Not to mention the added treat of seeing a Twi'lek girl in a wet blouse!
Sepiv: the friend that I had the drinks with. She always seemed to send me an "I'm sick. I'm not sure about that Brandy..." Tell at the perfect time to keep my confusion up and put me off balance regarding Oeree's condition.
If I didn't know better, I'd say Keer got set up into a planned RP event. Actually, I'm still not sure! Definitely another highlight of my RP experiences so far. The third one in what? 10 days!
Moral of the Story?: Even a "slow" night at the Crazy Roba can be a wild deal!

I went crazy because my synarette was poisened. Normally when i eat a Crash'n Burn, i don't have the puke emote come up, but that time i did. So i though, "hmmm, how can i rp this.." So i though of my smoke getting poisoned and myself being controled by the pain.

Ahh, the infernal syntharette. Keer's stays away from them, preferring imported Corporate Sector cigarras instead.
Nice improv on an unexpected occurence (the puke emote). You and Jorhel tossed a few cookies for awhile there. For a minute, I thought that you were both trying to get Keer to go back inside! I was thinking "Wow, now THAT is a good trick to get privacy. Who wants to watch two guys puking themselves?".

Ekade has lived in hot places most of her life. She does not like the cold rain.Smug Druggler wrote:Ekade: for having the presence of mind to scoot back inside when it started to rain. As for your moral of the story... I think it is easier to RP in a smaller crowd sometimes. So a "slow night" can sometimes be the best kind.

That's WAY true. I think it's an amazing bit of coincidence though that Oeree got sick off his syntherette the same night Jinx was poisoned by that brandy. Finally catching your writeup though (THIS PLACE IS A MAZE!!) it all makes strange sense!
I was trying to make the night more interesting for a friend who had come to role play (Locuck) and things seemed quiet. I'm not in the know about social events going on, I just heard that the Kreetles were double booked. So we had a good time regardless!
My inspiration for "sickness" was because as I drank Keer's brandy, I saw all these negatives on my stats instead of what I'm used to. So I thought, wow, this must taste different. Which I commented on and Keer said to the effect that it was his special blend. As I drank more (and Jinx drank more - *g*) I thought - what if something wasn't right with that brandy?
The great part was watching people's reactions. Some kind of laughed at first, assuming she'd just had too much to drink and passed out. Gradually concern started though. Role playing became finding different ways to describe being motionless. :-D
But it was great to see good role playing as the characters tried to think of what to do and where a doctor was. It's been a week and I didn't even think of logging the dialogue then so I can't pass on kudos like I truly want to. I know Ekade and Locuck by heart but there were several other excellent contributors -- one guy who made her puke up the poison, and explained it was just like on the farm I wanted to give RP xp!
The funny part was -nobody around- (or available anyway) had even medic skills. So Jinx was out and there was no other doctor or medic around! Crisis! lol!
Last night was a lot of fun at the Roba -- LOTS more people. There was such a bustle of people talking around everywhere that it was fun and crazy! Great to see Dossk and his "brother" being so well played, I must say. Even finally got to meet Zannon, Seret, and X'an. But definitely Roo stole the show, insulting Aquaria's honor, slapping Sepiv (and getting a backhand in return mind you ), and then taking all of us down one by one with his super-weapon. There was almost too much all at once last night but lots of highlights as a result. And my thanks to Zyre for asking Jinx to sing -- you don't know how honored I was to be up there with the Kreetles! Even if I then had to run immediately so I could buff Aquaria for her duel with Roo.

w00t!!! Glad you had fun Sepiv!!!
I had a good time.. I was taking it kind of easy RP-wise. I spent more time on stage than I normally do. I generally "work the room" a little more.
I decided that last night I would let the RP come to me instead of vice-versa.
I so wanted to talk to Dossk and his "brother", but IC I don't know them.. I need to make up a reason to.
Maybe I should have starting flirting with his brother to see what kind of reaction I would get.
The Roba is supposed to be a "civilized"... That's why I am glad we have S&V, so the gritty characters can be themselves.
I missed out on the Aquaria thing, and portions of the MidCo conversations.. it was too much to keep up with.
Such is a night in the Roba. I guess that is "realistic".. one can only keep track of so much in a noisy room.

Thats why Novall doesnt show up for one. he and Alonzo dont get along well together, and it would not be cool to do something that may disrupt the fun. At some point...the Mercenaries will make an appearance, but it wont be for minglingEkade wrote:w00t!!! Glad you had fun Sepiv!!!

Ooooooo.... sounds like fighting words.
On a brief derailment, Alonzo, are you more of a Hal Jordan Lantern guy or a Kyle Raynor? Or Guy Gardner? Or James Robinson (black guy who's name I can't remember, but I always want to call him James Robinson)?
