I have to agree with both of you on, gryphon flights are fun and give a small break unless your flying from stormwind to IF like iam as i type this. But as Ekade said in WoW travel in that game even on a mount is scary and long, it took me two hours to travel from stormwind to auberdine, then to The barrens, then to some camp just to talk to some dude only to travel all the way back ( thank god for a hearthstone). If SWG had this feeling in its travel it would be great but it doesnt, i have to admit i see things in WoW that SWG is lacking, and i fully understand why SOE stole the entire game from blizzard and made it for SWG, but that alone took away the SWG for me in a way.
Heh...wait till MEO. 10 hours just to travel from Grey Havens to Rivendell.
10 "IN GAME" hours, they havent said how long it would take in real hours
From the quotes I saw it was 10 RL hours.

Bah you're crazy. You just have enough ships to search them all, that's the Imperial way after all :) I still play that game too, can you still play it online against someone?

I'm sure if you have ZONE access then you can.

That's what I always did. I'd just build up a massive fleet of starships and then send them to each individual planet I didn't already control by that point. Whenever I found a Rebel planet, I'd send my main fleet there and bombard them until there was nothing left and my troops could easily sweep through any left-over forces.

Why waste your time with that? I just blow the planet up, less targets to worry about. Then on to the next :deathstar

That does not scare me. I did Jabba's and the Rebel Themepark ON FOOT, back in the day. Did the investigation tree of Bounty Hunter when the shuttle wait times were 10 minutes, this was before there were vehicles mind you, and you needed to build a camp to pull out your mount.

Ancorhead to Jabba's. That's a walk in the park.

Although.. we had this old idea called "Shuttle Crash on Dathomir", where we would pick a waypoint on Dath, "crash" there, and have to adventure our way back to the starport, no vehichles or anything like that. It would be an RP/combat scenario. I'm too lazy to find the old threads, but perhaps this idea should be revisited. Just a thought. :D

I forsee everyone and their mother wanting to be an elf, just like in WoW.

I think dwarves will get some loving but yeah I'm all about the elves. If you want to blame anyone for this blame R.A. Salvatore.

Cause doing that kills your faction standing on other planets. Go and wipe out 2 or 3 planets in hard mode and see if you dont have half a system go into uprising. Rebels have Infiltrators and Icons at almost every planet waiting for your faction to get to 50/60%.

Chal wants to be an elf, but I will be a human. Elves are just to dainty for me. I gotta be down and dirty...but not to the extent of dwarvs. I dont wanna go swimming with little hairy women.

That's why you have Vader squash the uprising. And I find your standing takes less of a hit when i blow up an outer rim planet anyway and that's usually where the HQ is.

Dainty? Have you not read the books by R.A. Salvatore? Elves are cunning warriors, plus they live forever you can't go wrong with that.

Dainty..HA!

Yes, but quite often some of those Outer Rim planets have lots of resources you can exploit to make more stardestroyers.

Although I was always a fan of making dreadnaughts for planetary garrisons. Cheap, and can hold a squadron of fighters.
