I know I can't trust the devs, but they have said that all professions will be equal. None of this "Jedi are 2.5x a normal player" stuff.

Dwilah wrote:As many people as are against Jedi here, do you really think that so many new players will automatically go for Jedi? Even though we are a small sample population, and many of us have sought out the Jedi profession or are currently seeking it...we have seen the value and continue to enjoy playing non-Jedi characters in RP and in game.
All I have to say is the biggest impact for me is going to come VIA RP. With this it's going to change the face of our community.

I don't care if I'm not 1.5x stronger then a normal profession but as Jabe said we did spend 2 years for this reward and now it's crap and that sucks, but what I'm going to hate more is that I think unlike Dwilah and Nyvveck that now everyone will go Jedi. There's nothing to hold people back now.

To go in with what you just said, Hashum. It does beg the question of... What was the purpose of our Correspondents with the 30 plus professions just to pull this?

The Jedi debate aside. Removal of the one Alpha class profession to make everyone equal was not necessarily a bad idea. But it does leave some with a sour, Why did I work so hard for it again? taste in their mouth. I'm honestly not too upset about this choice moreso than I am about the complete removal of Complete Melee professions.

The feeling is, yet again, surreal. I was expecting a punch to the face by SOE because we've come to expect it... instead I feel myself being kicked in the gonads.

But, we're still here. Let's just hope the changes aren't as bad as they seem.

Yes not to mention I hate FPS's. I like getting specials as I progress through my grinding that makes the grind more fun. I like the toolbar damn it! Taking that away probably pisses me off more then just about anything else.

Next silly question I'd have is... Has Anyone here tested this on Test Center? Or did they just pull this with no play testers from the paying community at all this time?

It should be on TC anytime... But no this has been under wraps for a long time. I could tell that pub 24 took way too long to come out, they were up to something. bah.

As I have understood it, you will still be granted specials through XP-advancement. And left mouse button will be normal shot, right mouse button will be pre-set special. Which makes me think you will be able to select current active special through toolbar selection as it is done now. I guess.

look at the faq again...each class had just 3 specials total

If we still get to use the toolbar method of attack with Tab cycle 'lock' targetting, I'll be a little more at ease. Then their really only taking away the mouse movement function on the mouse and pasting an 'optional' FPS function into the existing game.

I seriously hope that is the Enhancement of it.

Read through the FAQ and Dev tracker. There is nothing 'optional' about the point and click

Ok so now we will have fast paced Star Wars-esque combat (as Julio said) but we will all be spamming the same three specials? I hope they have more of a game plan then that or this is really going to suck lol.

I'm going to go get Battlefront 2. At least that way I have a current graphics engine to enjoy for a game of this style.

Well I was having in mind this quote:
"You'll then left-click your mouse to attack with your selected weapon, and right-click to attack with your currently active special attack ability--you'll be able to swap special attacks in and out on the fly"

I'm NOT saying there are more than 3 specials. Perhaps there are only 3. Perhaps there are more and they are not telling everything. I don't really care. Being a carbineer and BH I only spam two specials for damage (sometimes 3) plus KD, eyeshot and stun on occasion. Having 5 specials or 3 to me doesn't make much of a difference really.
Anyway, if it is gonna be a crappy game, I'll use up my November's subscription, then with December I'm gone.
