The story is more like 40 years ago, and Adama still worries about Cylon attack, before the attacks he mentions in a speech that they are going to get it for playing God.
I think Six is playing games with Baltar, aside from maybe meaning they (Cylons) are God, she may be trying to change him. I think what we are going to see with their Character's will be interesting. She's going to use him, as I can see from the previews. She may get really mad at him for sleeping around soon. I cant tell if she really is in love with him or what, but this story is SOOO good.
The space action is great, I want to see a game where I need two joysticks to flip a craft around like that, and whip stuff... that looks like realistic spaceflight folks.
The thing is this story acts like the original series didn't happen, a lot of people want for it to be a continuation, or like a next generation. the Writers call it "re-imagined" I say "It's Freakin' Fantabulous."
Number six may show up as a crewmember agent soon, and I like the way things are playing out with Boomer, She HAS to defect.... would be awesome...
I want everyone to pay attention to a continuing theme that is hurting the Cylons... the new models can love... Love defeats everything. NOT sex, but Love, and infatuation are something they can't control.
Battlestar Galactica
Indeed. From the preview of the upcoming ep, and from Boomer's behavior (when she was consciously aware of her behavior) leads one to believe that the Cylon "humans" are in for a world of emotional hurt.warsloth wrote:Number six may show up as a crewmember agent soon, and I like the way things are playing out with Boomer, She HAS to defect.... would be awesome...

Then for the love of god, PLEASE let paper be turned back into squares! The hexagon thing, while very consistant (playing cards, reams of paper, dog tags) is also highly impractical. ;)Keer wrote: "We believe that bringing realism to science fiction is neither contradictory nor a fool's errand.
Also, not that consistant. I've noticed that books and white erase boards don't follow the hexagonal treatment. Neither do desks, but you don't use a desk as a means of "traditional" information exchange.

I dont get the hexagonal thing, I think thats some of their computer paper or something.

All explained very well. The reason for the hexagonal shape reflects not six, but twelve (six sides plus six points). These 12 things represent the 12 Colonies and the 12 Lords of Cobal of their ancient heritage.X'an Shin wrote: Then for the love of god, PLEASE let paper be turned back into squares! The information exchange theory is correct. The Lords of Cobal exchanged 12 scrolls of knowledge between them on single pieces. Thus, in homage to their forefathers all information media of single pieces that can be handed to another Human are given the hexagonal shape. (cards, papers, dogtags, etc --not books because they are multiple pages).
And if you believe all of that, I've got some land on Cylon Occupied Caprica to sell you.
*spins around in chair, laughing madly because he finally has a day off from work*
WEEeeeee!

Anyone see Starbuck eject from her burning ship last week? Tough spot coming up tomorrow with a rescue attempt.
And worse, I bet that a Cylon pilot will survive the crash too. See both ships tumbling into the atmosphere last scene?

Enemy Mine kicked ass. One of Dennis Quaid's finer films. Right up there with Inner Space.

And if any of you remember Galactica 1980 you would have seen a flashback where starbuck was stuck on an alien planet with a cylon that he rebuilt so that he would have company. They became "friends" and the cylon even got starbuck a women. SHe died leaving starbuck her newborn infant who became the doctor kid on Galactica 1980. Hence the reason for the flashback. Don't ever remember that being in an actual episode of Battlestar so it was kinda cool to see it in that horrible spinoff. Probably the best episode of that short lived series.
Oh and X'an, thank you for the seal of approval =)

I think the cylon craft are not really what you would call "manned" but rather beings to themselves... They may find wreckage... an important priority...

We do the same thing...wait for the DVD's. I must say, never have I watched something that consistently keeps you hanging at the end of every episode like they do. They have some amazing writers.Seret Sajet wrote:I have sort of this tradition ever year. I refrain from watching the regular season of 24 on TV and during our New Year break my wife and I just pick up the 24 Season DVDs and watch them all in one weekend.
Now this weekend we were unable to get through the whole 3rd season but most of it. There has never been a more thrilling show on television. Its not even acurate to call it a TV show, its more like a 24-hour Movie Epic. I love a show where you're never sure if someone is going to live or die.
So to keep the tradition alive I'll will not be watching season 4 on Fox but rather looking forward to next New Year's and the DVD set.
