Yes, but quite often some of those Outer Rim planets have lots of resources you can exploit to make more stardestroyers.

Although I was always a fan of making dreadnaughts for planetary garrisons. Cheap, and can hold a squadron of fighters.
I never have an imperial fleet with less then 3 super star destroyers in it in every system I have planets in.

Do you guys name all your ships? cause I do :P

I never much wasted my time with those, although they did get built quickly. I only used the Star Destroyer capital ships myself. I'd always nab a few of those really resource rich outer rim planets right off the bat and then set up huge factories on them with 8-10 Shipyards to create fleets.

By the time you get a good fleet with a death star you've sent out some probe droids and have a decent idea of what planets are rebels and you can head out and blow them up. Usually I'd have to blow up 4-5 planets before finding the base. Vader and a few diplomats could usually keep the planets in check long enough for me to take care of the business at hand.

And that's usually the last thing I need to win the game so it's all over after that anyway, so if I lose a planet or 3 in the process who cares.

Yeah I usually name all my ships, sometimes I miss a few here or there when they're flying out of the ship yards too quickly but that was always fun.

That does not scare me. I did Jabba's and the Rebel Themepark ON FOOT, back in the day. Did the investigation tree of Bounty Hunter when the shuttle wait times were 10 minutes, this was before there were vehicles mind you, and you needed to build a camp to pull out your mount.

Ancorhead to Jabba's. That's a walk in the park.

Although.. we had this old idea called "Shuttle Crash on Dathomir", where we would pick a waypoint on Dath, "crash" there, and have to adventure our way back to the starport, no vehichles or anything like that. It would be an RP/combat scenario. I'm too lazy to find the old threads, but perhaps this idea should be revisited. Just a thought. :D
LOL.. the first delivery mission I did, I walked from Moenia to Theed then back

Up hill

Both ways!

"Shuttle Crash on Dathomir", That would be fun! Hide the radar behind a chat window and lets see if we can make it... anywhere.

I would suggest Endor or Yavin though
