FoS don't claim to be Jedi, at least not to Nyvveck. They are Dark Side Force Adepts, of which "their" (just for you Whar) are a lot of in the EU at this time...all the Emperor's Hands are Dark Side Force Adepts, all the Emperor's Mages are Dark Side Force Adepts, and yes, even all the Inquisitors are Dark Side Force Adepts.

Just wanted to clear that up, as I can understand how there could be confusion on the matter.

Other than that, I did not go to the event, so I can't say how well it went. But I got to see my first AT-AT in game, and I thought that was pretty cool.

You guys have turned around and done the exact same thing that was done to you MERCS and TTF combined were too much for Temple and you were pissed about it. I show up in Mos Eisely and find Imperials ganged up, openly giving orders to a platoon of Jedi? That is complete bullshit. At least you get to be on the winning team this time. YAY.

Yeah, it is bullshit. We got a rep as whiners when we made that argument. What did we get for our efforts? We got the guild war turned off on us and probably several "Temple are Whiners" threads started.

You turned it off and on like 3-5 times! Yeah, we pushed Temple outta the war. At least we knew then NOT to expect your help for sure rather than wonder if the TEF was even working.

I actually showed up on my own, later on joining with a group of my PvP buddies. But anyway, I tried to RP some, but ended up getting LOL abused, or 'humped' by many Imperials. I did have some fun with some scenes that I took place in though. I had Oeree redirect rebels away from the Imperial Patrol and such in the starport. So, pretty much, I had my ups and downs tonight.

Also Jabe, check up with Snado and myself sometime. We are actively PvPing when we have a chance, and we don't act like the wtfpwn d00d type of guys. We RP while we do it.

All I know is that right now if I want to enjoy PvP, I'd have to be in KOG or be hangin with some OOC d00ds to make it happen. I've been recruiting but nothing is happening very quick. Due to my schedule, I got nothing much else to do with my toon right now, so it sucks to find that this Imperial thing has somewhat pumped the grenade for the dark side.

The community is too small now. A balanced war can't happen. I happen to be the only active light Jedi I know right now aside from DuoX. Jabe is PvP worthy and there is nothing I can do with him unless I start ignoring 3 years of RP.

If you would have stayed, you could may have made an alliance with Oeree. He showed up with 8 or so Overt Rebels.

I am glad that was finally stated, I thought this was to promote rp and add new members to Goraths community, no offence to anyone, specialy cuz I showed up on time ( late for the event )BUT, as somewhat a outsider looking for his niche into the community this isn't the way to do it.

Can you really compare books and movies to this game anymore when it comes to jedi and dark jedi?

I am sorry I missed out, but when I see the scratching and hair pulling it sorta makes me not so sad I missed it.

I hope to make it to the next crackdown or event like this, I really want to find my place here

It is a different game, in a different time, in a different galaxy, far far away from what the SW universe truly is...

it's in its own universe, where everything has a star wars "feel" but has no basis in "real" star wars history/legend

and that's what Jabe unfortunately is having problems with...

the game has become RP-Lite...Fast Pace, Less Filling

You basically have to tweak, mold, bend, or break your past history in order to fit into this new game...Jabe just doesn't want to do this, and I wouldn't want to either...but it's either enjoy the game the new way, or quit.

If the new game forces you to where your Jedi 1337 gear 24/7, AND yo want to RP as well, you better change your RP background...otherwise the pwning will continue...

I cannot understand how anyone can pretend to RP and play a dark jedi toon at the same time. Light jedi can at least put their stuff and forces away and say they are hiding from the Empire (be that properly jedi or just force adepts) - not having a sabre tef is a system flaw but what can we do about it. On the other hand, using a lightsabre in the line of duty for the Empire?! Give me a break.
Frankly, EU is bunch of B-rated sucky ideas introduced by disgruntled fans who could not accept some OT/PT facts and started making workarounds to bring stuff/heroes that should clearly be out, back in. Jedi are the enemy of the Republic (Empire), who tried to overthrow Palpatine and are responsible for his disfigurement as far as public is concerned. It was announced in the senate. Jedi were shot at by ANY trooper who saw them and I dare say general public similary is not inclined to them. Someone explain me why Palpatine and Annakin did not question every one of the jedi in jedi temple "you wanna join us, work for us?" before killing them? Why should it be any different in Ep.IV or Ep.V era - if you give in to secondary ideas such as 'Empire was employing force sensitve individuals'? For that matter, Empire could, but the moment they used a force power or, God forbid, a sabre in public, they would become hunted and die eventually. Rebellion, which was a pro-jedi organisation, did not manage to come up with a valuable force sensitive person in 20-years time and even in Ep.V Luke was still the last one (and one recognized potential). Now project this rarity of jedi hopefuls into the Empire and you can get a clear picture how many strong force sensitives the Empire could obtain in a similar time period, dismissing a fact many of them could just as well die in the process. EU workarounds and anything based on these are just poorly thought-out reality escapes.
So spare the force sensitives, military ranks and RP combinations.

Thank you to everyone that participated. Isleh, thanks for making the At-Ats happen. The Crackdown felt like this could be more successful if we put a little more time into it.

I'll accept the brunt of any arguments since I came up with this hair-brained idea off the cuff at the last possible moment.

To that end I'm only going to ask one question. I'd ask that everyone focus on this one question instead of anything bad that happened tonight.

Sometimes, I think It's the "Star Wars" in SWG that causes this game to fail.

What other game has these problems generated because 6 people of a specific profession and faction, role-playing a part in the EU show up at an event?

If anyone hasn't noticed, Hojo has left the game because of this crap. In fact, ALOT of people have left this community because of this.

I'll give a quick after action review:

Most people logged on early. As a result the event started a little early and was already getting a little out of hand due to the Server community showing up. The 'joo n00b' crowd Irene' warned me about. It was in full swing by the time the actual 8pm CST start time rolled around.

Problems to work on:

Open PvP/Combatant Immersion in an open environment is a damper where we may simply have to put on our 'blinders' to a few people. The affor mentioned 'joo n00b' crowd. Those who were there know who I'm referring to outside of our community on this one I believe. Kids will be kids (even if their adults) as they say.

Our RP: FoS was, indeed, a main pressense for the Empire on this one. As we've pointed out having more Dark Lords there than Imperials in Uniform is something we can work on. Next event I think I'm going to make the effort to get Imperial Uniforms out to those that can't wear armor and ask that we use pistols, rifles, or carbines instead of lightsabers. Perhaps allowing only up to two 'Jedi' types to be there in that role. This may help things a bit on our end. I may opt for a more closed event as well. My idea was simple though; Go someplace where we can be out in front of the entire server in the hopes of getting some involved with us.

Our Inquest Officers and Troopers did an excellent job as well. I think FoS did very well for their participation as well. We just needed some better coordination and that blame falls on my shoulders on this one.

Again, some things to work on. Ok, maybe a lot to work on. But this was in an effort to give us something fun to do. It just didn't pan out quite as well as I'd hoped.
