My problem is WHY, why give us 3k ham why not give us somthing like 1.25k ham and leave it like that. There is no point for such a high ham except that they want us to be able to have LONG DRAWN OUT FIGHTS. I loved near launch everyone had whatever kind of weapon and we went crazy, Wookis were feared cause of their higher ham due to lack of armor, and spaming specials wasnt a problem. if they could revert us to the old days, no buffs cause their stupid, and no DOT's except whichever special gives it out. I will be more happier then getting a 3k ham for a full combat Template.
I think the 3k HAM is an indication the DEVs are geting the BDZ syndrome.

(Imagin cheep anouncer voice from the early 1950's help films)

What you may ask is the DBZ syndrome? It's simple it is when an idividual gets so caught up in numerical stats and giving higher and higher stats that the numbers no longer have any meanning what so ever. DBZ stands for Drangon Ball Z where fighters where givin a numerical stat to indicate their level of fighting. By the second season every one had over a million power rating. Why? because the producers felt that the audience would think the characters where cooler because of it no other reason.

Serriously though would it really change the game a hole lot if every numerical stat suddenly lost the last 2 digits so that instead of even 1k ham you have 10 ham and every thing else would be praportional. Is it absolutly nessisary t0o have ham in the hundredthousands, tenthousands, or even the thousands?

yeah

So...

Basically you are going to boycott an event, the oldest reoccuring event on teh server, because you saw an instance of bad RP...wow...and I was blacklisted and called elitist for even hinting at this...

If it was up to me, many people would have been banned for being idiots long ago, so just because it happened to you now, please step back for a minute.

How many times did I have 800 bounty hunters a week coming to kill me...and i'd beat them...and they'd clone and come try again...

I mean...that's what got me so fed up, how could i ever win when the BH's just kept cloning and returning...and if i tried to give thema creative out..they wouldn't take it. People always abuse the system to make the storyline bend to their will...

One of my biggest philosophies on RP was always to avoid this, try to give the most realistic situation possible. I'm back now, and trust me i'm gonna be making sure people get banned if they are idiots disregarding /duels and such. Basically in RP if someone does "/duel" you shouldn't decline ever because from an RP perspective the second i type "/duel" means that is the moment i would be attacking but the game doens't allow me. So barring a quick ooc message ina tell to check about something related to the fight beforehand, a duel should be accepted immediately.

Jabe: the imp bashin thing is one of my biggest peeves, but it happens both sides. Many imps abuse the fact that EVERYONE knows that if you aren't one faction you are 99% likely the other. THere's no REAL covert status to the game. So why exactly does the roba have imp oppressors every single week when its nothing but a nightclub. Now if a fight was to happen one week or rumors of smuggling were occuring, sure, investigate...but imps don't investigate with 20 ST, 2 AT-ST, and full auto on. Yes they are evil, but they aren't stupid either, they have to at least maintain a look of a legit government. Hell Mos Eisley doesn't deal with this much imp investigation and its the "hive of scum and villainy"

If it were REALLY realistic...you kill someone they'd DIE, but that can't happen but how many times do you find someone willing to work a realistic out? i'm sorry cloning doesn't work like it does in the game. Cloning is a long process where they "grow" the clone. EVen if its faster by this time period....its not THAT fast that you can have endless copies of yourself.

If it were up to me, perma death would be a reality, any emote such as /spit or /slap would auto engage combat, and there wouldn't be "/duel" it would be open pvp like UO or L2 (from what i hear about L2, haven't played it)

Now, i'm all about setting up some guidelines, but don't try to enforce yours on the roba, because no one damn sure ever wanted mine enforced on them back in the day.

(oh yeah, if you missed it, i'm back and you can all have a focus for hatred once again :) )

Ok, well first off - I just assisted in someone else's take over, I didn't come planning to do anything other than socializing. I would never plan an Imperial operation in Dohrian because I firmly believe in the idea of "jurisdiction" and I have no jurisdiction in Dohrian.

Secondly... I pretty much agree with most of your points. When it comes to this event I consider you "the horses mouth". So if you could at some point outline, as a GM, some generally accepted behavior for this event (e.g. if buffs are allowed which I think is now obvious) and anything else. I do believe it would help.

Again.. for anyone who did not understand my primary complaint: I was primarily upset that the guy was acting like a hard-ass after beating me. I was also surprised it was a TTF guy. Don't RP yourself like that especially if it wasn't a fair fight - but again moot point now.

Personally I am glad you're back because before I felt the event had squandered without you. The first time I met you you put the hammer down on one of your own guildies who quit TTF and walked away quitetly. I respect that and am glad you'll be running the show again.

Now I have to start paying attention as mod again.

Is this a REAL comeback, or a typical Zo "comeback" that lasts about a week and a half?
