2 overts rebels against how many overt imperials?
It's not like they are planing to win. So why the hell not give them a little RP scene before ganking them?
You know, a little something in return for giving 4+ people something to shoot at.
Kreetles Return to the Crazy Roba
I turned it off, but after this speech, I will turn it back on. Like I said We dont like to DB and go great lenghs in this Crap-Tastic Combat system to try and not to.Jabe Adaks wrote:I am not sure where the overt/covert argument came in to play. I got killed on the guild war TEF. My only real frustrations are that I wish I coulda been at the Roba longer and that I wish my guild had more members and allies which is really just my own fault that it doesn't.
Otherwise I am not too worried about the rest. I am just explaining myself. Guild war is still on from my end and I intend to continue current RP.

First off, I wish the event went a little better. I try to bring the roba back because I hear that it is probably the best thing that we could do for the RP community and this is what happens...
Because of this I guess I must clearify some simple basics that i have found in the whole RPVP issue.
The purpose of the guild war is to provide a sence of realism as specified by Rebecca and Nyvveck. It is meant to keep everyone...in character.
The purpose of being Overt is to PVP.
I do not like, and have never liked, Overts at RP events. The main thing I hate about the overt aspect of things is that unlike the guild war, which has been accepted by the community, it is that being overt welcomes non-RPers. That is why I do not allow overts at the roba and that is why i encourage no other RP events to warrant overts. This is for obvious reasons. Nyvveck has also re-educated us about that.
And as for Ekade's remark, Yes, the Roba *is* a classy nightclub and i intend to keep it that way. It has always been a no-fight zone, and i also intend to keep it *that* way. If i have to, i will tap into my more limited resources and get a security force. But we have allways been no-weapons, no fighting.

From my understanding, one member of FoS talked to Snado before the others killed him.
Ok, I understand what you are saying about RPing. I agree, things could have done better. However, from my understanding, Snado ran like hell when Kirt and the rest of FoS showed up. So what would happen in the liberal country we call the U.S. if two people ran at the first sign of the police? They would be chased down and arrested.
In the Empire? They would be chased down and killed. Perhaps at the low levels, a stormtrooper might hesitate to shoot, but I doubt it. When you are overt, you are just another soldier on the battlefield. When you are covert, you are arrested.
So can we all agree on this: Going overt to an event has risks. That is the nature of overt. If you do not want the risks, you do not go overt. While RP before attacking is nice, it is not required. Would a rebel walk up to the stormtroopers and say, "How ya doin'?". Would the stormtrooper walk up to the rebels and say, "Excuse me sir, but you are under arrest". No.

I understand and saw a little bit of the end of the RP. My concern was the use of the term "Fair Game".Chay-Ara wrote:Isleh... Eagee was rping with Snado before we came and attacked
I should explain a little bit of my SWG experience for the first year so you understand my concern with the use of the term "fair game" and PvP.
The first guild I was in is Mafia. A Jedi production line and PvP guild.
"fair game" = black bar HAM while incapped.
"fair game" = clone camping.
"fair game" = Destroying the armor of any smuggler who feigned death and black bar their HAM.
"fair game" = CMs tossing DOTs at 90m through bunker walls.
"fair game" = nasty and absolutly no regard to the other player and "hey, you can do it too so if you don't, cri more noob."
I simply do not want to [see] our PvP turn into that and that calls for a little restraint on everyone's part and a little restraint means that being overt is not "fair game".

you have no control over what is or is not "fair game" ... no one does when it comes to overt. This has been said like 80 times in this thread.
... If you are overt your basically telling everyone hey im a rebel! Well what happens if an imperial comes up and says hey im an imperial! They arent going to sing and dance and drink together it is the nature of the entire star wars universe that they both kill each other

I hope you posted this before you've read my post just above it. Sure, I cannot control what someone OUTSIDE this community does. But am I to expect load kills, etc.. from FoS?Chay-Ara wrote:you have no control over what is or is not "fair game" ... no one does when it comes to overt. I'm unclear on what you are saying...Are you agreeing? Disagreeing? Highlighting my stupidity? I would appricate it if you cleared that up for me.
