Can't really argue with that one... that was more the ooc thinking than the ic thinking. Either way, nice to see the sides evening out.Ekade wrote:/QFTE-bo Obi wrote:

But that is a good thing. When the stakes are high, the RP is more intense.

What E-bo said. Really what's the point of playing the game if you're going to be too scared to play and enjoy the game?Sai'nu wrote:Ahhh, so, young E-bo. I do see your point... guess Jedi/Guild Warring does bring up other game mechanic concerns with this sort of thing in my out of character thinking though.E-bo Obi wrote:No I think they are trying to play their role by helping others.Sai'nu wrote:But, it does at least sound balanced now... but aren't any of you worried about the visibility that might get generated over this in -One-?
Cool RP... Gank... -million xp... is just hard to get out of your head after awhile.
Frankly you're going to get visibility no matter what at some stage. Especially hunting in groups. With people joining the group and leaving the group randomly you're bound to pick some up.
So we can either
A) Fear visibility and sit around grinding all day and inter-act with RP scenes that don't cause visibility.
or
B) Just say the heck with it this is a game, my character would want to help, and if my actions would have drawn attention to my character through the RP then who cares if I get visibility and a non-RP bounty hunter comes. I can make the encounter my own RP because I knew it was coming.
Besides despite having been pwned recently by Ekade twice, 'Crystal, and a MCM/MBH resulting in about -400k Jedi XP it wasn't really a big deal. That's oh what 1-2 hours of grinding for 1-2 hours of fun RP and fun OOC?
But for the record -ONE- is not forcing any of it's members to participate so if this is a concern of one of their members they don't have to fight. They don't have to be involved in the story, but I know at least a number of the active members are all for it regardless of their current state in their template.
RP is the priority not OOC or game mechanics. We knew the consequences of playing a Jedi when we started and are prepared to deal with them.
It's time some Jedi started showing that we can be a positive addition to the community and stopped hiding behind OOC.

Actually, he is helping me understand the pwn mentality.
Just as we are helping him with RP, he is helping us with teh pwn.
You see, I was operating under the assumption that there was a time and place for talking about teh pwn of one's template. If you are one with teh pwn, you understand there is NO LIMIT as to when and where you should be talking about your template.
In fact, you should ALWAYS be thinking about how to make your template pwn that much more. You should ALWAYS be talking about it. You should ALWAYS be telling others how much you pwn.
Unless you live, breathe, eat, sleep, and dream pwn.. you will forever be a n00b.
To pwn takes the deepest commitment.

I think I'll happily hold up my 'I'm Nub' sign then.
Teh pwn can get very annoying very quick.... and distracts one from other things. Like; what was this thread about again?

In your question lies the answer. The thread is about being pwn'ed and needing help. You see the pwn never distracts one from the topic at hand, merely elaborates on teh topic. And after all this is in the RolePvP forum.Sai'nu wrote:I think I'll happily hold up my 'I'm Nub' sign then.

Ow!... and thank you.
I don't know what came over me.
We were talking about allies and getting people involved. I think this arc, and the recent developments around Sepiv's trial leave us wtih a lot of RP on our plates. This is exactly what we want.

Yeap, your right,... right here in the script under 'Teh Pwn' bylaws...
Wish the director would tell us extras about these things.
Given the allies and enimies and no clue what is really going on with this arc... I'm still scratching my head here.

Yeah what's the status on the Sepiv story, I've read Nyvveck's thread (which is great guys) but exactly what's going on now? Who has Sepiv?Ekade wrote:There is a voice in my head that sounds very much like Snado's.. he wants me to say: Crai more n00b!!!Sai'nu wrote:I think I'll happily hold up my 'I'm Nub' sign then.

You know what would be great, is if Templ seeing the opportunity to turn this bounty in their favor captured Kirt and turn him into the inquisitor, and thus if the Empire is the one the posted the bounty he could remove it in exchange for Kirt because he wants him for question.
Then you make a friend of the Inquisitor, and he's a good friend to have I would think. Just a random thought though.

Make friends with the Inquisitor? Hmm... has anyone thought of that. /wink
Yeah there are several approaches that could be taken. E-bo didn't run off after the fight just so she specifically could address Trade-Sec. A crime had been committed and there was no way she would leave the scene of a crime before she could be questioned =)

If our guild is involved perhaps we should send out some form of RPish email or something to let them know. I can't speak for everyone, but I know IG/IC no one has mentioned Templ let alone aiding them in any way. I would certainly like to break the monotony of grinding with some good rp and perhaps even some pvp, but those opportunities are going to pass many by if they aren't aware of what's happening IC.Hashum wrote:If I'm not mistaken here's my takeSai'nu wrote:More importantly, what is the allie count now?
Seems like somewhere this plot has turned completely fishy with loyalties yet again. :P
Templ
-ONE-
Sharn
Sepiv
Dwilah
VS.
Kirt
No but really
We've got MERCS and possibly TTF-S on the same side (With the exception possibly of Nyvveck due to the jail break) against Templ who now has the aid of -ONE-, and possibly Sharn and Dwilah from what I can tell.
Sounds pretty even to me.

Yeah I know it's posted there which is great, but you know it's easier to get involved in a story when something actually happens IG than reading it here and then going IG and all of a sudden you're toon who was previously clueless now miraculously up to speed lol and just shows up like mighty mouse *here I come to save the day!* and is at the wrong place at the wrong time and everyone stares at you quietly wondering "WTF is up with this fella?", to which his equally puzzled companion replies, "Too much spice I think. Should we put him down?"....and then the situation degrades rapidly from there. Ok so I ramble...I'm medicated now so this should lessen over time.Hashum wrote:dang you and your logic. The jist of it was this....
My "informing" everyone of the events in the arcs, via recap, was BAD FOR RP!!!!
They are 100% correct.
I did it to make it easier for people to be involved. However, as they pointed out to me, information should flow in game. If you want to know what is going on, if you hear a rumor you want to pursue, then GO FIND OUT!!!
Why waste the opportunity to RP the gathering of information? You may have to hear the story from multiple sides before you get the true picture.
We have all these characters that are supposedly savvy at gathering information and make it a point to know what is going on. Why not use them to find out? Drop a few credits (real or RP) to pay an informant. Go talk to someone in-game.
Cliff-notes = bad for RP.
Suffice it to say, everyone should be aware of the following as it is public knowledge (via rumors and or holonet transmissions):
- MERCS have been attacking Members of the Temple of the Goddess
- There was a major incident at Sepiv's Inquisition hearing, and the Inquisitor is after people for questioning and/or punishment.
RP on!

Which begs the question.. what would your character do?Shensen wrote: Yeah I know it's posted there which is great, but you know it's easier to get involved in a story when something actually happens IG than reading it here and then going IG and all of a sudden you're toon who was previously clueless now miraculously up to speed lol and just shows up like mighty mouse *here I come to save the day!* and is at the wrong place at the wrong time and everyone stares at you quietly wondering "WTF is up with this fella?", to which his equally puzzled companion replies, "Too much spice I think. You are presented with a piece of information. How do you react to it? Do you desire to dig deeper and find out more? If so, then do so.
If your friend desires to help us, and you are not sure why.. then what would you do? Most likely, you would want to talk to him. If you don't know what the Temple of the Goddess is, you would ask him about it, no?

I can see why the person may feel that way, and I don't necessarily disagree. But were there no posts on story arc's it would enforce cliques because only the characters that are typicaly with your character would know what's going on and thus exclude people from a chance to RP.Ekade wrote:Sai'nu wrote:

Without some OOC knowledge we wouldn't know that there would be rumor's floating around about Templ and MERCS going at it. Which is why I at least think cliff notes or a general overview is good for RP. It opens up the story to those that can see the story would be something their character would dig deeper into.
Now there are risks involved as Shensen points out just because I read something here doesn't mean my Character knows what I know, and I try to keep those two issues seperated. But we do need some OOC or posted info to make good decisions. How we use that information could use some work.
I probably should have for instance taken another root or a longer road to getting involved myself "employing" certain characters to help me get what I needed. So that is definately a valid point.
Could we maybe get some names on info or "spy" people. This isn't an aspect of RP that is used often (to my knowledge) so I wouldn't know what type of person I should look for. I think typically we assimilate character's into easy to define roles. Hashum=Jedi, Kirt=BH, Ekade=teh pwn, etc. Spy or informant isn't typically one of those. Maybe we could get some "underground" advertising out. If I know it's available I will use it.
