The idea didn't really die off. It was more or less taken to PMs.

Nobody will tell me the name of the game. I was going to design a launchpad and a patch system for it. Kinda hard to do without a working title or theme to design around.

I am still working on the story, but I will pitch you a name shortly...
I think I need to go into hiding in my dark cave for a while and work on concepts that need more depth.

I hope my generalizations don't downplay the depth I have already acheived with this. I would rather someone see the finished product, than all the garbage and discards in the proccess.
I hate to quote myself ^ ... but I have not ceased to work on this since my posting of the original message. Nor will I...

My eventual plan, if a team cannot be assembled to develop the game according to my vision, is to pitch the idea to a good company that will bring it to life.

Trust me... it is far from dead.

(also about the link... If that engine was anywhere near capable of producing SWG/DAoC {post catacombs} calibre graphics and whatnot, then maybe it would be worth considering.)

Jabe, I assume you know your stuff when it comes to the programming aspects of these things, so expect multiple PMs

just thought I would say... you dont start writing a book by choosing a name first. So if I have a good idea sometime while the story is panning out, I will call it my "working title" sometimes I keep it as the name, sometimes I think up something better.

If anyone wants to contribute basic ideas to help my creative gears spin, I need some original character race ideas, some creature ideas, and other unique Sci-Fi stuff.

I am trying to avoid as many cliche's as I can. I am avoiding some ideas because things are already getting complex in some areas. I mean that some things that I want to do may be pretty demanding of any engine, and adding systems and features may make it super hard to develop into a playable game. There are some things that must be considered to spare people intense lag. (SWG anyone?)

I figure I can always put a ton of things in writing and remove ideas that don't work. Maybe I will try that...

General descriptions of your ideas will help, so feel free to say insane things, like: "a player race of dog people!" hmm... Bothans? or John Candy?

my writeup is ever expanding... If you want to see it, let me know and I can PM it to you.
*caution* It's massive, incomplete ramblings, and totally awesome.

If you are the type to sit and dream about sci fi universes, and the kind of game you would make, I still need a lot of input. YOU CAN HELP!!! and please do!!
