My Turn for a Hurricane Party!

Ivan's coming my way and people are freaking out--gas stations are closed, batteries bought up, and schools are closed until Monday! Yeesh! Starting to make me a little nervous! I'm sure it'll all blow over fine but if I'm not around for a few days, it's because the power's out.

Sorry it had to come your way. I was hoping for everyone's sakes that it would just hang out in the gulf and play with itself.
If you are inland a good ways (30 miles) it should decrease the storm's power. Just in case, make sure that you and everyone you know listens to the advice of the authorities after it blows over. If they tell you to stay inside try to do it.
Too many people that survived the storms get hurt by charging right out into the aftermath of bad roads, downed power lines, and flood waters after they are warned not to. It's not worth it.
Just keep a clear head. Best regards. ;)

Well, if you're gone - you'll be missed. I hope it goes well, I think people are just over-reacting.

Thanks for the thoughts you guys...I'm sure it'll be fine though, I think they're all just freaking out for nothing. I mean, I'm in freaking Birmingham.

We survived with lots of shingles off our roof and lots of water damage to several rooms. Icky. Was scary. =(

That's good to hear that you had minor damage.
And in brighter news...

Or you could just grab hold of Selma Blair from the movie advertisement next to it and use her as a flotation device. Holy Quadruple D !
