question for those that have Nov Scout for the hill climbing

my char is maxed out on skill points and is set where I want him, but with the introduction of the glowyness, I want to add some of those skills to his character, so I was thinking of dropping the novice scout skills to get 10 skill points back...I've been playing since beta and have always hated having an elite fighter that couldn't even run up a slight hill because he didn't have novice scout...
so I was wondering if there are people with characters that don't have the nov scout for the hill climbing bonus and what do they think?

Going up hills on foot without it sucks...take zannon for a walk some time.

I had to give up the scout skills as well in order to get Master Smuggler. If I didn't have the speeder, it would suck balls, and wouldn't have done it.
But yeah, if you're Teras Kasi and you want to chase people or NPCs down, you kinda need it.
I personally think that the Explorer tree was a neat idea when it first came out, and have since realized that they could have built that into any combat class as an added bonus.
Because what Teras Kasi (even novice student) couldn't run up a hill??

Good thing about bounty hunter is that to become one you need all of explore. I cannot live without it.

Second that. It was a big template shock compared to having that whole branch once and damn near flying up hills. Good thing I have Master Pistol/and Smuggler to cap 'em when they run away.
Also Sk'arr consider that you won't be able to harvest anymore. I just dropped Novice Scout so you could train me in Techniques 4 last night. Don't know if you noticed but I couldn't harvest a single scale from those Kimos.

I <3 Exploration. Dwilah had absolutely 0 Terrain Negotiation for the longest time and it was a true killer in the field as a doctor trying to heal the combat types who were running around with bleeding heads.

yeah I'm not so concerned with the harvesting anymore, and I have skor for that if I really need it

It was nice as combat medic cuz I got the hill climbing bonus with the support tree. I do without it now in a melee class and am just more careful where I park my bike.

Wait a minute. Scales are loot not harvest. Are you saying that the better your harvesting skills are the more likely you are to get loot off of creatures like Scales, Feathers, Bone Fragments or Gurk King Hides? I'd like to know more on this.
That could explain why during my time as a Ranger I aquired 26 gurk king hides.

No this is actually my bad. Sorry for the false alarm. I knew that scales were loot, just I lumped scales in with harvest. Though, I didn't get any scales, it wasn't due to that I'm sure.
Now if my "Loot Luck" does happen to take a nosedive in the future, I'll be asking Seret's question myself.

I dont have scout anymore and I dont miss it at all.
If you need to climb a hill, use a vehicle.
The FS skills are better than Novice scout, IMHO.

Well I do really like having Scout, although you gotta remember too that you can call your vehicle off the toolbar now - so that to me might sway my spread of skill points.

if you know how to zig-zag, then you dont need explore to go up a hill. Waste of points in my opinion.
