I've seen ways to do this but haven't gotten any to work. Has anyone made it work and how?

I know a few people ingame that do it. I just use two different comps.

Who are those folks, Arifo? I've been wondering myself and would like to know if just for future curiosity's sake.

Well, Krystyana does it I know but I have not seen her post on here.

(she does have an account)

There are others but it seems kind of odd just calling out random people's names.

It was Illbleed that figured out how to do it but he's left our ranks. Jabe probably still knows how. All I know is you better have a TRUCKLOAD of RAM to do it otherwise you're going to bog like mad.

You don't need a truckload to do it necessarily. I could do it with 768MB of RAM, but I would have to keep both toons out of Theed and Corellia. It hasn't become a problem now, since I added another stick of 512.

What you have to do is edit a file in the SWG main directory to MultipleInstances=[True]. If you search the SOE forums, I'm sure you'll be able to find out there.

Create a text file file named user.cfg in your SWG folder. Put the following text in the file:

[SwgClient]
allowMultipleInstances=true

That's it. And yeah, you better have a LOT of RAM.

i tried this way and it didn't work, but I eill try the other way listed and see what happens

got 1 gig btw, and I'm just using it in a situation where I might need one character to help out another for a minute, not something to run continuously

It's just your hovercraft, Skarr. Just add 2-3 more fans and you should be good to go. And you may want to remove the eels.

My new PC is running good and quiet.. have 1 120mm fan inlet,

1 80mm out beside proc, and the 80mm into PS and 80mm out of PS, stays nice and cool. May add 120mm blowhole to top. need to buy all LED Fans to light the sucka up. window is usleless w/o it.

sorry bout the de-rail, I have a gig of ddr3200 and I haven't tried to run 2 at the ssame time.
