Well the boards seem a little slow today so I thought I'd put a few topics out there for discussion and see if maybe we couldn't get things rolling here. So I'm interested in your thoughts on the subject.
1. The Impact of JTL on weekly RP events. Should there be a 2 week break to allow for the release?
2. FS XP Grinding, is there an easier way?
3. FS Skills, shouldn't we just get to choose one branch each phase instead of having to deal with schedules the way they are now? I mean if I do Reflexs in phase I why can't I just take Melee Def. And then do Reflexs again in Phase II and get ranged Def? The grind time will be the same no matter what anyway.
4. What ship does everyone want? How many ships do you want?
5. Where is everyone today?

In regards to #1, I think your suggestion is excellent, perhaps RP events should take a break for a week or two. Simply because people will be immersed and getting familiar with an entirely new part of the game.
I will be curious to see how JTL will effect event turnouts in the long run and what kind of possibilities for RP will be opened up and possibly closed by the changes JTL represents.

1. I think the events should stay but expect a lull in attendance. From what I've played people are really going to way to try the expansion out and mess around in space. Thats understandable.
2. Geonosian Cave (best rapid XP gathering if you have a decent group and an area attack)
Squill Cave on Tat
Fort Tusken on Tat
NPC hunting (I found fighting random spawns of NPCS like cayon corairs, marooned pirates, and mercenaries really gets me big XP fast)
Those the best places I get XP
3. I agree here. I can only train in Ranged Accuracy right now and thats useless to me. What I'd like to do is skip to Melee Accuracy. I understand the need to space out training to slow down the Jedi grind but can't you just pick the skill you want and lock it in? You would progress at the same rate only you'd be getting the skills you want. With this method I have to wait for 2 more cycles before I can train in what I want.
4. I really have to see ALL ships before I decide. I can tell you I want one fighter and one frieghter for my business. I think some of us core Nocturnians will share one or two freighters though. That should be cool.
5. I'm here, bored at work. Nothing new.

I just want to clarify #1 a bit. The reason for the suggestion is since crowds will be low because of the New feeling JTL will bring I thought if we gave everyone a week or 2 to get it out of their system we could advertise their return after which might get people to come since it could be like a grand reopening. But either way. Good thoughts so far. I too and VERY bored at work. Boss is out today.

I agree on the issue of number one. I'd like to get some start off time upon JTL launch (looks like I'll grow old waiting for my damned JTL Beta Key :x ).
Numbers 2-3 I am totally unqualified to speak on at this point.
#4 I think we went over in some other thread somewhen, but I'll reiterate that I'd like Keer to have any other multipassenger ship other than the YT-1300. As well modifiable enough to make it "a ship with punch and gait to spare." (<--- Han Solo and the Lost Legacy, c.1981).
#5. Trying to catch up on all of the things I've been putting off to game and not being very successful at it.

wait a sec, you can't go up the tree of your choice?
so how do you get to go up the tree you want?

You've got to wait until the week that unlocks the tree you want. For instance if you do the reflex missions on week 1 I think that opens the survival tree from that branch, while week 2 opens Vehicular Control or something stupid like that. So you've got to know which week the 1 branch you want opens, and all the good ones are on the same week. It really sucks. I need Melee Defense so did reflexs not knowing you didn't get to choose which branch you got to train in. Very painful learning experience for me.

Lets say you did missions for the Captain. That opens the Combat Prowess tree. After successfully completing his first set of missions you can train in the first skill in Combat Prowess, which is Ranged Accuracy. When the village shifts (in about a week) then you can do another set of missions for the Captain and unlock the second tree, Ranged Speed.
Sucks for us brawlers, don't it?

Don't forget the loot drops from the Nyms guards, Mercenaries and pirates. In one evening of hunting I managed to gather 10 +20 vibro motors, 3 +23 vibro motors, 8 +20 feed mech enhancers, 6 +20 power handler motors.. as well as numerous loot kit parts. Novall (If I failed to mention it... "You suck!") managed to get a nice assortment of +3 and better skill tapes.

Do you ever notice Marooned Pirates drop better loot than the Mercs or Canyon Corsairs. The Mercs are by far the toughest and the Corsairs come second yet the weakest of NPC spawns on Lok drop the best stuff.
For example one night I hit every random spawn I could find. From a series of Corsairs I looted nothing but crap weapons. From just a few Marooned Pirates I looted Jedi Crystals, Loot Kit Parts and Skill Tapes! Damn!

Wey and I finally did it. we unlocked and got visited by the old man and killed the sith...
ho.. hum.
I'm not giving up master smuggler nor dancer and I don't have many skill points to spare and the one's I do have are in pistoleer. If I go through the painful process of working up ranged weapon accuracy, I'll be worse off then if I keep Pistol marksmanship 1 in pistoleer.
Unless I'm doing the math wrong but I was disappointed to say the least.
*sigh*
Even the force can't help this smuggler and her pistol skills.

Only a fully developed Smuggler Revamp, with the Combat Balance as it's ally can defeat Vader and his Emperor.
The Combat Balance is on a special Test Center as we speak and the Smuggler Revamp, well...take a spot here on the wall as me, X'an, and Linus wait for the
Great Pumpkin to show up (gonna have to be after the Combat Balance and the initial patches to JTL at least).
