I thought I would create a new thread to discuss the changes made to the Star Wars DVD's. Currently, we know of some of the major changes to the DVD set such as Hayden in ROTJ and the revamped Jabba. Post your changes/grievances here!

I feel that they should have taken the Star Wars Kid and put him in place of Luke for the entire trilogy.

lol..that would have been a welcome change.

First change I saw..

In the original movie, the first appearance of Ben Kenobi was accompanied by the large roar of a Krayt Dragon.

In the re-release, it's a girly sound and doesn't sound as fierce.

HAHAHAHA! That's fucking superb X'an! I'm also glad I'm not the only weirdo that goes to Something Awful.

Yeah, when I saw that one I had to print it out and stick it on my monitor here at work.

I wish it were mine. I'd love to pay the $10 to register for their forum, because I'd love to participate in their Pshop madness, but I'm afraid if I did, I'd never get anything done again, like, EVER.

Not only do they have the most hilarious Pshop battles (Xmas In Mordor is their most recent one displayed on the front page), but there's TONS of uh, movies and music and stuff you can find in there.

Yeah, I just watched Ep 4 and noticed that too. It sounds like a water drop then a roar then another water drop. Why even bother?

I do like the new Jabba though. And I'm actually glad that the Death Star stormtrooper still hits his head on the door. Just kinda funny.

But Han & Greedo. *shrug* First was best. Greedo missing always reminds me of a Star Wars spoof that Richard Pryor did wayyy back in the '70's on TV.

Richard Pryor is a waiter in the Cantina. He's carrying a tray of drinks and an alien looking like Greedo bumps into him.

Richard: "Hey, man watch where you're going!"

Alien: (something unintelligible).

Richard: "What do you mean you didn't see me?! You got the biggest eyes in the place!?"   That show's gotta be on the 'net somewhere.

How could Greedo miss 3 feet away? And with those Hubble Telescope Peepers in his skull he was probably able to count every photon in Han's blaster shot.

Zannon, Krida? Any info on Rodian vision problems?

Obviously he wasn't certified for that blaster, and didn't pay attention to the warning when he equiped the weapon :)

I wouldn't count on that. I bet you'll be able to get it without looking too hard.

That is entirely possible. I honestly did not see it. Now I need to go back and check.

Please be gentle and only make me question my sanity every so often, or at least wait until I am insane enough not to care. :D

This picture is pretty funny because my girlfriend calls C-3PO "Bert."

I, for one, will not be buying the DVD set. Well, I might, but I'll still keep my trusty Original Edition copies from the tapes at the library. Sure, they may not have Han and Jabba in Mos Eisley, but they have Luke falling to his death in Cloud City with a little dignity instead of unleashing that cheerleader scream.

On a side note, for the longest time, the only version of Star Wars I ever saw was the one that my dad recorded off of TV circa 1985. He would pause during the commercials so the movie would just play through, and he managed to cut out the entire Mos Eisley Cantina scene. I didn't ever see that til I checked out the Special Editions in the theater. I was sitting there thinking "Man, I don't know WHY they cut this out! It explains so much!"

My sister still laughs about that.
