Well, let me be one of the "rock throwers" that fell in love with the "crap movies".

Personally Lucas has ruined his own self. I love how he states that he doesnt really take the fans into consideration.

Guess all that $$$ gave your the big head. The thing is that in 20-30 years, people will still be calling episodes 1-3 crap.

I've said it once and I'll say it again. Lucas is like a spoiled brat.

To him those movies are his and his alone. Its his creation and he can do what he wants to it. If I were to do a drawing and I wanted to improve it I could just go ahead and get white it out or Photoshop and its all good. Sure I have that right but this is NOT the case with movies.

The difference is more than a dozen people didn't help me make my drawing. Not only does lucas not care about the fans but he also doesn't care about the actors, the director, the cinematographer, and all the others who helped his creation become real. Everyone in that movie just blurrs to him and mean very little in the end.

So fine, be a spoiled brat and change your movies over and over again. Like I've said before, by 2010 the Star Wars Trilogy will be released again but this time all actors and sets will be replaced by CG. :D

I was thinking about that other article that was posted, which basically called all the fans who said "Lucas doesn't own Star Wars anymore" a bunch of fascists, or communists, or whatever.

The thing is is that while yes, Lucas owns Star Wars, OTHER major motion picture studios own the rights to THEIR movies, and you don't see THEM editing them.

Let's see who would defend changing the ending to Casablanca, or maybe Citizen Kane? How about we take all of the Hitchcock movies and improve on the SFX to bring them up to speed with Alfred's "original vision"? Would these same film experts who are saying that Lucas has every right to edit his own movies were not call "foul" when Turner bought the rights to umpteen movies and colorized them. Hey, he owns them, so fair is fair, RIGHT?

It's like they want to recognize ownership rights over the artistic responsibility to maintain the original piece of work. And it's only because he's an individual owner. For whatever reason, if it was *corporate* ownership, I'm sure they'd feel very very differently about it, and they shouldn't. Revisionist film-making is wrong, no matter how you slice it.
