Hello! I found this board through a sig in the Gorath forum and thought I would join. I'm actually new to Gorath, although I've been playing SWG since launch on Starsider. I was hoping to find an active RP community on Gorath, and luckily I stumbled onto this site.
A bit about myself: I came to Gorath from Starsider because (after a long layoff) I found that most of my friends both in-game and IRL, have either left the server or quit SWG altogether in the time I was gone. A couple of my RL friends still play on Gorath (although they are not RPers), so I created a new toon here.
I am not a "hardcore" RPer, but I do like to be in-character and occasionally hang out and meet new people in RP cities and cantinas when I'm not out doing quests or grinding. I can play both in-character and OOC, depending on the situation. I like to attend RP events, although since I am a casual (and not particularly practiced) RPer, I tend to be kinda shy and watch rather than actively participate. I am unguilded because I'm not particularly fond of PvP or guild drama, both of which usually tend to come with the territory in SWG.
I'm also a west-coast player, and tend to play in the late evening, so I tend to be online rather late for an east coast server.
I hope I get to meet some of you ingame. Your city and the events you hold in your cantina sound like fun, so I'm sure I will turn up at one of them eventually.
Keep an eye out for a quiet, surly zabrak named Raevas and give me a /wave!

Is your character's last name Krieg? I think I just saw you at the shuttleport in Fort Galaxy. The only reason the name stands out is because I've seen some stupid names all day and when I saw yours I thought, "Hey, a name that finally isn't dumb as hell!"

Heheh, thanks. Yes that was probably me. I ran a couple laps around Nocturnus to check out the place and use the bank. Very nice little city. Tatooine has always been my favorite planet, but Lok is a very close second because it has similar terrain, has the cool music, is less laggy, and I can still use Tatooine-style houses there :-D

Welcome. I have to say I can relate to your situation as I was in the same not but a month ago. However once I found this site I moved almost instantly to Nocturnus and have fallen in love with it and it's people. I hope these boards will bring you the same enjoyment we all get from them. Welcome to Gorath and to the RP community. As someone stated before, the calander above will have the schedules of various RP events, and there are currently 2 reoccuring RP events.
The Crazy Roba is a RP cantina event on Friday nights that I suggest you come to one day and hang out at. It's a fun loving and relatively peaceful with the guards enforcing cantina rules, but you never know when a mercenary will come in tossing a few grenades or a squad of Imperials will show up to make sure things are following a standard.
Scum and Villany night happens on Sunday evenings at the Lucky Despot located in Mos Eisley. It's a seedier enviroment that most would expect from Mos Eisley. If you're a criminal or need to pay to have a "crime" commited, this would be the place to do it.
Club Midnight, which alternates with Scum and Villany on Sunday nights, is a casino run by the town of Nocturnus on Lok. It is the Sin City of Gorath and it brings on all that the title would entail. Go for the games. Stay for the Twi'leks.
Once again, welcome to our small slice of the Gorath pie. One word of advice. Rori is a law abiding moon. Do not come there looking to start or aid an insurgency. Justice is swift and usually lethal.
