Edora and I are starting an RP guild based around the Temple of the Goddess.

I have a question.. How many letters are allowed in a guild tag?

I was under the impression that you have 5 letters. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Assuming we have 5 letters, here are some Tags we have come up with:
Gddss
Faith
Love
MTL (Mother, Teacher, Lover)
Pray

Opinions, ideas? So far I am liking "Gddss" the most.

Definitely allowed 5 characters for tag. (MERCS)

My initial reaction was:

gddss - hated it
faith - I like it
love - hated it
MTL - sounds interesting
Pray - God no

*A bit of SNL humor.. no offense meant on the "hated it" responses*

I'm with Ceka on these. I would suggest Submit, but that is six letters. perhaps Obey? =)

Faith and MTL are my favorites, but what's most important is that it's something you identify to and that you like.

I'm with Dwilah on this one, Faith and MTL are my favorites.

How about <SOUL> Sisters of Undying Love?

Why do you guys hate "Gddss" so much? Just wondering.

I assume that gddss is taken from Goddess.. I just dont like the all-consonant version of it. It doesnt roll off the tongue very well... makes me think of lizards and snakes.

I would prefer to use an acronym of some sort.. or a complete word that describes the "flavour" of the guild.

If you want to have "Goddess" incorporated in the tag, I would suggest GODSS.. or GDESS. The vowel just seems to add something.

But it does have a nice ring to it. I think there is a guild called SLAVE on another server.. I thought I came across that in looking through the responses to the Pex thread, or one of their sites.

Since you are creating this guild based on a 'religion' you should consider all the RL connotations associated with whatever tag you choose. I would personally stay away from stuff like <PRAY> because players may take that as a RL ministry rather than an IG one. <FAITH> sounds like a great tag but may have similar implications. No offense if we have any on the board, but I tend to hide upstairs when the Jehova's Witness come knockin. Just something to consider.

Oh, and same with <EKADE>. You see that tag you don't bother hiding. Just go out the back, get in the car, er speeder, and go. Just go.

Yes, I totally agree. I had the same issues with the generic but religious names like "pray" and "faith", etc. The last thing I want to do is have to explain to everyone that this is an RP religion, not a real one. In addition to having to deal with those people who blow a fuse anytime someone suggests religion.

As to your comments on the EKADE tag.. I think it is time you form a guild called DOO and we have us a guild war. :P

That'd be funny, just going into battle any time we see each other.

Just had a random thought...what if two guilds were set up for the BH system, where marks could join the non-BH guild temporarily. Can avoid the whole duel dilemma.

That would be a great way to solve the problem of duels, but I don't think people would be willing to drop their current guilds to do it. If the bounty hunter system really took off and a group of people played in it most of the time, I could see them using the guildwar mechanism for this. I like this idea a lot.
